Difference is that Cuba could not pose a legitimate threat to the U.S. if it wanted to beyond MAYBE cyberattacks.
Whereas DPRK not only does cyberattacks, but they have nuclear weapons and they have a massive conventional military positioned fairly close to their border with a key American strategic ally.
Also making concessions to them (On top of the concession of sitting down with them in the first place and allowing them the photo-op of their despot next to an elected president) is unwise because it damages relationships with ROK and Japan in exchange for nothing but vague promises which they have already shown willingness to break.
If the negotiations get screwed up and all future meetings were cancelled RIGHT NOW, the party that comes out on top is DPRK since they at least got something they wanted.

Cuba doesn't have nukes or a sizable military.
Opening up relations with Cuba was one of the things Obama did that I approved of; but the Cubans were happy to take what he gave them. A deal with DRPK is much more difficult.
