This is the first time I'm posting here. I just gave an interview for a news show in NYC regarding the mayor's proposal to eliminate merit-based admissions into specialized high schools due to diversity.
I am a public figure. I am Asian. I am adamantly against affirmative action and any haphazard measure to "diversify" schools by lowering, in this case eliminating, standards.
I have an extremely large community of supporters backing me up. I won't go into details, but some in the community are running for office in their respective districts and we don't intend to stop there.
I am also conservative. I have a wife and two children. I don't mind blacks or hispanics, but there is absolutely no place for them at a school like Stuyvesant if they don't know how to multiply.
Specialized HS in NYC is purely merit based. No quotas. Nothing.
How can we fight this? Asian-Americans are hurt the most by affirmative action, and we are minorities, so I can easily dismantle the racial connotations involved in this classic debate.
i’m in academia and i feel the same way. i don’t mind when it comes to affirmative action for blue collar jobs, or, especially community related jobs like police officers where it obviously is a little racist when the people who run the community don’t represent the community
but in jobs that require brainpower, or getting into elite schools, where there are objective measures of a person’s value not based on their personal quality, meritocracy benefits society.
how do we fight “bad” affirmative action? shilling for objectivity in judging merit seems like a very logical and powerful argument. at least to me. probably logic isn’t that important for most people though, so maybe educating people better is the first step. that would also expose them to how meritocracies work and the people who benefitted from a system of awarding people based on their objective merits
Hudson Long
This problem could easily be solved if the overwhelming majority of you people didn't vote for Democrats in spite of their obvious contempt for you. I'm sympathetic, but you keep voting for the same people again and again and you never seem to learn. > vote for affirmative action party > what's all this affirmative action?! I don't like this!!
Ryder Hall
Okay, good. When are you going back to Asia?
Camden Russell
Think they're going to air it? As completely insane as NYC has gotten these days there are still a lot more sane people in the general area. As far as I can tell, they're just completely spellbound by the Jewish media into not saying what they think out loud. If more people were willing to stand up and talk some basic sense, I think that could go places.
One of the things I've liked about Asians as a group is that they tend not to give a shit about being too PC and they'll just be straight with you about what they think. And they're generally not stupid, mean, or racist or anything. That ought to be valuable.
Connor Lee
Depends. When are you going back to Europe?
Hunter Smith
oh fuck pwned

Nig here. Also against affirmative action. When I encounter rhones and sharkeetas smirking and rolling their eyes at me whenever I have to get anything govt done (and this includes the post office, hate filled sharkeeta I am looking at you), and I look back on the years I was bullied by nigs for "talkin proppah" and "why you readin an studyin, you tryin to be white?????", I feel nothing but rage and hate for these stupid sidewalk monkeys. They have jobs and houses because of blacks like me who sacrificed and studied and unfortunately mis-led whites into thinking our race is worth a fuck. If I could be Nazi I would. Good luck Asian bro in fighting affirmative action. It's throughout our culture now which is why you see roasties starring as retards in reboots of everything white men have ever done. Pic related.

Having black police officers in black neighborhoods has been tried! Yes, you’re not the first to think of this brilliant idea. The results? Here comes the shocker—there was tons of corruption. There is no good affirmative action and I can’t help but wonder if you are an affirmative action hire.

Jaxson Fisher
Jow Forums does have it moments from time to time
James Reyes
>so retarded and far removed from common sense. how so?
>Believe it or not but those take some degree of intelligence, but more importantly motivation and a good work ethic. intelligence, meh. maybe electricians or plumbers need intelligence, but that's not what i'm thinking of per se. e.g. manufacturing and truck driving don't require any intelligence. work ethic, yes, but i encourage employers to fire bad workers. motivation, meh, that's what the paycheck is for.
>Guess what?! Having black police officers in black neighborhoods has been tried! Yes, you’re not the first to think of this brilliant idea. The results? Here comes the shocker—there was tons of corruption. source? maybe you can pull out one or two anecdotal examples, but that doesn't prove anything. on the other hand it's a pretty convincing argument to me that if the police officers of the community looked like the rest of the community, instead of being some outside invader force, then that would improve community-police relations

Trucking doesn't require any intelligence? Why don't you lurk some of Truckerfag's threads on /o/ for a while. It's not rocket science but you'll start to see the difference between Truckerfag with his considerable IQ and the kind of sad trainees who can't even figure out how to drive a truck or turn a profit.
David Robinson
unfortunately it's easy enough for computers to do. in 5-10 years it'll all be automated by self-driving trucks, and they'll self-drive themselves better than human truck drivers.
it's a mechanical and brainless task.
Adam Hall
t. Student at meme university, which is currently involved in litigation re: discrimination against Asian-American students in favor of less qualified students from backgrounds perceived as "disadvantaged."
Our soon-to-be-outgoing university president sent out an email to the student body a few days ago arguing that "diversity is our strength." By diversity, of course, they do not mean people like you and me.
If you haven't already, consider following the Students for Fair Admissions case. It would be an instructive example. Most of the primary documents are available online. There is also an ocean of secondary sources that address comparable practices in other universities. Sadly, it is challenging to objectively evaluate most of this information due to a lack of transparency. I suspect that is intentional.
Godspeed user. You sound like a decent human being and I truly wish you the best in your fight for (real) justice.
Angel Davis
No, not really. Apps and stuff have made it a lot more straightforward to schedule jobs and maximize profit, but there's way more to driving a truck than driving from point A to point B. You should really educate yourself before spouting off about things you don't know anything about.
Isaiah Powell
for the millionth time, it's the propaganda they put out, not the fact that they make money
If every Jew loved AmRen and Jared Taylor and despised porn do you seriously think I'd still hate them just for being rich? No, I'd be trying to get some Khazar milkers for my sons and me to suck on.
well i'm sorry mr. expert of truckdriving, my specialty is not in the deep theorems and lofty art of the Standard Model of Truck Driving Theory. maybe the major universities should start a Ph.D. program in truck driving, and you could get the first honorary degree
Parker Lewis
> user politely tries to educate you about something >you act like a snarky bitch is actually right. trucking companies are beginning to utilize a lot more data analytics and the like to try and refine business models - it's all about efficiency. Both the logistics involved as well as the physical driving of the trucks themselves is actually far more complex than people realize. t. business/systems analyst with an actual trucking company as one of my clients.
Mason Evans
> is actually right. trucking companies are beginning to utilize a lot more data analytics and the like to try and refine business models - it's all about efficiency. Both the logistics involved okay, fine. data scientists with Ph.D.s in math and physics can probably make trucking and transportation a bit more profitable. point taken. >as well as the physical driving of the trucks no. a computer could do it. and computers will all do it in 5-10 years. and that will make the shipping companies WAY more profitable. operating a truck is not even as difficult as operating a sewing machine. only difference is that there is a way to be creative on a sewing machine, but not for driving a truck
Jonathan Hall
it's already been aired.

yes, all 3 billion of them. (asian includes south asians as well).
honestly, i expected to just be called racial slurs and kicked out of here but you guys are communicating better than the representatives i've had to deal with.
what do you think of specialized high schools?
>Godspeed user. You sound like a decent human being and I truly wish you the best in your fight for (real) justice. :) thank you!
>Students for Fair Admissions case. do you think there's any way an asian student can get away with placing a different ethnicity. not just east asian, we have many south asians as well that could possibly pass for black or half-black mix.
putting "asian" on an admissions application is a deathwish.
Zachary Nguyen
m8 do you even drive a car? An O/O truck driver has a million things to worry about and do day in and day out and has to figure out how to fit everything together. I bet you think farming is as simple as throwing some seeds at the dirt and driving a tractor back and forth for a while.
Jaxson Martin
No way around it now. The best way is to vote with your feet and with your money. Move to a better community out in Long Island. The taxes are high but they all go to the better schools. The schools there are de facto private schools but legally they're public schools (high taxes for education).
Look at demographic maps and educate yourself on which areas to avoid (urbanresearchmaps.org/nystatelegislature/map.html)
Visit local malls. If the malls have low end anchors or are culturally enriched, that area isn't doing to well. But malls that just got recent investment or are expanding are a good thing.
Andrew Walker
farming certainly takes a lot more skill than driving a truck. and actually agricultural science and agricultural biology are things they DO give out Ph.D.s for
truck drivers probably worry about a lot of stuff, true, but so do waitresses, maids, bartenders, moving men, housewives, pool men, janitors, daycare providers, the list goes on. that doesn’t mean truck drivers require as much brainpower as even cable technicians or HVAC guys or carpenters. it’s a mechanical and brainless job
Julian Ward
>diversity for thee but not for me!
scum, I am against all forms of affirmative action as they destroy the competence hierarchies our society is built while simultaneously giving those factually discriminated against rightful grievances. Oh, and they actually hurt the people they help because -- guess what! A 110 IQ nigger who gets into Harvard is gonna get BTFO by the 150 IQ jews, whites and asians in his class
Justin Sanchez

Ching chong thinks seeking status within academia is more valid that working towards becoming a foreman or other positions of leadership within the working class.
It takes practical knowledge and social intelligence to do either, but slant eyes can't see that. It's pretty clear you need a pack of niggers running the halls of your school. It'll put your kids in touch with the head of a monkey cock
Leo Williams
I don’t envy jews, they can be as rich or successful as they want, just like any other race or religion...that is until they start actively trying to destroy my way of life. That’s where I draw the line
Colton Brooks
You're talking about PhD stuff. That's fine. I work in academia. One of my friends on the other side of the building was on some projects for self-driving vehicles for fruit pickers. Almost got to do some work with one of the rovers that got sent to Mars.
But that's a lot different from actually being a farmer or a trucker or an HVAC technician or whatever else. Roughly half my family was farmers. You can be sure they had rudimentary education at best. My mom was the first woman in the family to get a graduate degree. All of these fields require intelligence and are not at all just about robot learning some academics sketching things out at the macro level. If you think it's all mechanical and brainless then I invite you to try it yourself.
Easton Turner
well i don't think getting into harvard should be subject to as much affirmative action as it currently does. that was my point. everybody getting into harvard should be judged on objective measures of their intelligence, and should be race blind.
where i think affirmative action is appropriate is for jobs where your intelligence doesn't matter, like i said. reread my post. that sort of job includes guys who drive trucks, guys who put up drywall, people who sell used cars, people who answer phone calls for customer service and read the script, etc. etc. as long as you can do the job then the representation of who's doing the job should look like the constituency of the community.
but when it comes down to "this guy's performance and brainpower will affect the profitability of the company, or the quality of the products being sold, or the impact of the research being done", then it should be meritocracy. but generally for jobs where as long as you get the job done, then it makes no difference, it doesn't really make sense for there to be a big overrepresentation or underrepresentation of any one identity group doing that job
Joshua Davis
> honestly, i expected to just be called racial slurs and kicked out of here you fell for the (((media))) memes user. congrats, you just realized what everybody who comes on here without an agenda and actually spends a minute talking to people realizes. most of the racial slurs are either thrown around for fun or are spammed by JIDF shills trying to shit in the punch bowl.

>Ching chong thinks seeking status within academia is more valid that working towards becoming a foreman or other positions of leadership within the working class. not more valid, just more valuable to society. people doing research for the benefit of the future _are_ more valuable than the guy running the factory, because somebody has to build the future while other people are pulling the levers on the technology that the researchers of the last generation created
t. white northeastern dude
Liam Ward
>If you think it's all mechanical and brainless then I invite you to try it yourself. well, if you're focusing on agriculture, then you have to admit that the agricultural sector of the economy in america is VERY highly mechanized. modern american farmers need to know how to run all different parts of various big machines, not sit there doing repetitive, mechanical tasks like picking the seeds out of cotton. and that's because of technology.
however, truck drivers shift gears and turn a wheel, doing the same exact thing for many hours at a time. and technology is replacing them because it is a _mechanical_ job very well suited for _machines_, it takes 0 brainpower
Benjamin Thompson
People should be able to discriminate for any reason they please in the course of operating a private company that I does not have a practical monopoly. It's called freedom of association. Go back to Asia you fucking chink, this country was founded by White Nationalist for White Nationalist. Spouting "hur dur go back to Europe" lets me know you're a sjw liberal cunt no better than those you bitch about.
Adrian Young
It's like you almost understand but for some reason refuse to make the connection. imo this is pretty rampant in academia. A lot of smart people in tight enough mental cages that they often don't see how things fit together, leading to a blind spot in being able to adequately determine where their particular specialty does or does not apply to reality.

hey OP, remember what I said about jew shills trying to shit in the punch bowl? For future reference, is a perfect example.
Joshua Kelly
I tried to help you along to think about what else there is to driving a truck than turning a wheel and moving levers around. I even gave you an example to do with automation of the agricultural industry. I suggested initially you might want to lurk Truckerfag's threads if you were wanting to think of being less ignorant or that robots are some kind of magic wand that you can wave at a bunch of dirt-munching brainlets who do nothing but sit in a cab all day in between stopping to eat another Grand Slam at the Denny's or whatever.
Jaxon Roberts
You're all right. We need more black people like you.

this is some advanced shilling. you have successfully derailed this thread and the OP's efforts for discussion about AA in schools and shifted the discussion to blue collar jobs.
well FUCKING DONE
Dominic Baker
well if there is some deep art to truck driving that goes beyond driving the fucking truck, then once the robots replace the truck drivers, i'm sure there will be desk jobs for them to work. i'm all for that but i'm not sure that's the case. do you think so?
if so, then they can change their job title from "truck driver" to "trucking consultant" or "transportation analyst"
but driving a truck, i.e. truck driving, is a mechanical and brainless task more suited for a robot

Benjamin Kelly
Dude, Detroit. A buddy of mine was on a grand jury and the black cops were robbing niggers themselves. They knew which days he'd get his paycheck and rob the guy. He couldn't complain because, like a nigger he had an arrest warrant. Yep, it's an anecdote, but do you have any proof to the contrary?
OP. There is plenty of material out there showing how stupid AA. Let's start with its name. "Affirmative Action". Affirming what? What kind of action?
Like a meme flag, (((they))) hide the intent with some pilpul bullshit propaganda-laden term. What it really is meant to do is disenfranchise White people from the positions in society they otherwise would be eligible for.
Let's call it our own name that exposes its real intent. Disenfranchisement of Whites. Anti-white, anti-merit, and most especially defective upliftment of sub-animal niggers. Like rotten milk rises to the top of your coffee, so do rotten people rise to the top of this unworthy upliftment known more commonly with the propaganda term "Affirmative Action"
Did you seriously think your thread wouldn't have a few insults directed to yourself? Here's one that's self evident... Going to /pol for legitimate arguments supporting your position. That makes you stupider than the niggers you are righteously trying to keep out of elite institutions. Go die of a kimchi overdose, you slippery gook. :)
Logan Perez
You really don't even own a car? I mean, it is roughly imaginable that a lot of truck driving could be automated to an extent and then you'd wind up with a huge fleet of service people to be dispatched out to fix them and solve problems, but then what are the efficiency costs of that on top of all the other things that truck drivers do being holding a wheel? I just don't think you have an adequate model of the industry to be making the predictions and declarations that you are. It sure doesn't sound like you'd be fit at present to be a trucking consultant or analyst because you don't know what's involved in trucking beyond driving from one place to another.
Even people who make money with Uber know more about their trade in order to keep it workable.
Logan Sanchez
You'll get the racial slurs alright, but not in anger. You should fire back with your own. It will build respect and demonstrate that you aren't an easily offended prissy little bitch, and are therefore actually worth talking to.
Mason Johnson
Anybody know what percent of Asians voted for deBlasio?
Oliver Rivera
>works in stem >in ireland...? the mecca of acadmia i'm sure >doesn't know the difference between "here" and "hear"
you're a postdoc in STEM? hmm cool. i'm just about to get my Ph.D. in physics. what is your thesis topic?
anyhow if you've read my posts, i have great respect for electricians, carpenters, plumbers, HVAC guys, and telecom technicians, as i've stated. they work for a living and do a crucial service. those jobs require some brainpower.
on the other hand, truck drivers and factory workers, just like maids, waiters, bartenders, janitors, do a very repetitive and mechanlical job that is better suited for machines. i would be very happy if my food or beverages were delivered by a robot, i'm sure the robot could do it better, but the technology isn't there. however, the technology IS there to replace truck drivers, and the technology for replacing factory workers has largely replaced most of them already. so my argument is that brainless jobs best done by robots should be done by robots, and truck drivers are next.
but for guys who do real jobs that require brainpower that computers are hundreds of years away from being able to do, like being an electrician -- those guys have my respect
Isaiah Smith
If that was actually the point you were seriously trying to make you would have articulated your initial post far more intelligently than you did. I've seen better attempts honestly. 4/10 effort at best
You could be right, but I've been in this thread since the beginning: it was getting no action early on and now ironically the shilling has probably put it to the top of the catalog now. For a good topic I'll gladly take a thread that's 50% bullshit rather than a nice and lean one that expires with under 50 replies. Half of us can argue with the shill, the rest can read up and get redpilled.

>you'd wind up with a huge fleet of service people to be dispatched out to fix them >hurr durr truck drivers are mechanics, and no other mechanics exist in the world everywhere in this country has a large fleet of mechanics who are trained much more deeply in how to fix trucks than truck drivers are. i doubt there will really need to be any more mechanics in the country; maybe more towtrucks, but not very many more mechanics.
>I just don't think you have an adequate model of the industry to be making the predictions and declarations that you are. It sure doesn't sound like you'd be fit at present to be a trucking consultant or analyst because you don't know what's involved in trucking beyond driving from one place to another. Even people who make money with Uber know more about their trade in order to keep it workable.
the people who know the industry aren't the ones driving trucks, sorry. there are people at desks analyzing the industry, and they probably know that the truck drivers are working stiffs who they know will be replaced soon. and those guys at the desks, if they still had a soul, should feel bad that they make these men do such a mechanical job.
Dominic Gray
If you really perceive the feedback and counter-argument we've been giving you as "lol I triggered them" then you really need to take a step back and reevaluate your grasp of reality.
the only reason you were accused of being a potential shill was because your rambling is getting increasingly more retarded and we're trying to come up with a plausible explanation for why someone who claims to have a phd in physics is so smug despite lacking basic logical reasoning skills.
Parker Perry
You are failing before you start, Chop Chop. If you say it's OK sometimes, then you just admitted that "defective upliftment" is OK.
Then, NEVER use your opponent's terminology. Within their carefully selected term, you also get some false assumptions that you probably don't ascribe to, but by using their propaganda-terminology you inherently accept those premises.
Don't do it, faggot. If you step into that minefield, YOU LOSE.
So, choose a better term for what you hate. Keep it neutral at least. Maybe 'anti-merit' based admissions? Everyone is for merit, aren't they?
If you want to sound verbally aggressive, call it "retard upliftment". But, just realize, my slanty eyed friend, your terms have hidden assumptions behind them.
Wyatt Price
This. I always notice a huge difference in thread quality for threads that don't involve Jewish interests. All of a sudden, its like the air gets fresher and the birds sing sweeter on a thread they have no direct interest in.
Oliver Powell
>If you really perceive the feedback and counter-argument we've been giving you as "lol I triggered them" then you really need to take a step back and reevaluate your grasp of reality. well i said "truck drivers and factory workers" in my initial post that caused this whole thing, and the huge backlash was about just truck drivers. apparently the 'truck driver' comment stirred up something... whereas the 'factory worker' thing along side didn't. so whatever this discussion became, i think somebody got overly defensive about truck drivers
>your rambling is getting increasingly more retarded i've had a few drinks since the beginning, lol
> someone who claims to have a phd in physics almost. not yet. according to my advisor, in the fall.
please, if you want to move away from talking about me and resorting to ad-hominem attacks, then please do. i haven't questioned any of you guys about your own personal lives, because that's not relevant. though i'm sure at least one or two of you are current or former truck drivers... (even though you should probably be fucking driving now if that's the case :-P )
John Bailey

>the people who know the industry aren't the ones driving trucks, sorry. there are people at desks analyzing the industry Oh man. You just had to double down, didn't you? And I bet your lab techs don't know anything, either. It's all the profs pontificating at expensive resorts and eating fancy food on the taxpayer's dime.
Next you'll be like my boss and continue to say "storage is free" time and again because that's what the cool kids are saying. No matter how many times I point out that it's not, that the storage itself being free wouldn't matter anyway, that he needs to build some real equipment money into the next grant proposal because the costing structure for government funds changed in such a way that we can really feasibly only do these really big bulk purchases (nobody needs to know that only works because I don't give a shit about the asset tracking rules and nobody questions what I do when I show up in the data center with a bunch of tools and wires and a soldering iron), and that if he wanted to save money he should have let me go through with my earlier purchasing proposal because now he's losing money on me having to do data recovery that the vendor (which we had to use because it's a "preferred" vendor) says is not possible.
Suffice it to say he doesn't really understand what all goes in to the research he's conducting beyond what he sees at his desk. It took a few years to get him to understand that just because Apple uses a big hash table for its filesystem doesn't mean everything is magically O(1). You'd think basic concepts like spacial locality would be immediately obvious to a person in his field, but I guess that expectation breaks down if you don't actually know how computers work inside and you think it's the darndest thing what you can get a whole kilowatt of power out of this here little switch mode power supplies these days, shucks!
Hudson Miller
>i'm just about to get my Ph.D. in physics fucking called it, can spot arrogant, jumped up little cunts like you a mile away. Come back to me once you've passed your viva and actually worked for a few years in academia or better yet industry.
Hunter Reyes
Good luck, its expressly because of your conservative slant and ability to poke holes in their minority status argument that you will me suppressed by mainstream media.
Mason Powell
nah, i disagree.
i think with respect to certain minorities, they were marginalized in a very unfair way for a long time, and they deserve to be just like other lower-middle- or middle-class americans, instead of being forced into ghettos or prison or barrios. they should have normal middle-class jobs, so if we need to have some "corrective measures" for the sins of the past in the form of affirmative action, so be it.
but that should be kept separate from the meritocracy we have in the high end of industry and academia. those places should be meritocratic, because that's where the brain power really counts, and it should be judged on merits alone.
Ryder Sullivan
>Im ok with affirmative action sometimes but not this time You enable it then realise your opinion never really mattered once you dont

Dude. We literally subsidize these people's entire existence. We've paid them enough.
i'm not sure what you're even talking about, but if you're not larping, then it sounds like you should move to the IT industry instead of the trucking industry.

I identify as a woman so I was oppressed for a really long time. Now give me your PhD. I’ve earned after all. With all the oppression and stuff.

I'm not in the trucking industry m8. I said I work in academia. Most of the time I'm helping the government or a big tech company spy on you or bait you into sex bots or whatever else.
I'm using myself as an example of how there are always strata of people who get their hands dirty in order to make anything actually work out, and desk analysts alone have no hope of getting it done or possessing the necessary insight (and nor should they, probably, any more than you'd expect a CEO to know how to be a good office manager). It's good job security for me considering so many people don't touch a soldering iron anymore and don't really know a whole lot more than finding some novel work to get published, scoring funding, or having a cool idea.

> admits to conflating truck drivers and factory workers, but thinks getting calmly corrected on it is overly defensive 'backlash' > admits to being inebriated during the discussion, but when it's pointed out that his perception/line of reasoning is suspect claims to be a victim of ad hominem >"im sure at least one or two of you are truck drivers" I can't speak for the other anons, but I told you I was a business/systems analyst that works with trucking companies so I am probably the most qualified person here to tell you that you are incorrect given that 1. I actually work with trucking companies and you dont and 2. like you I'm highly educated, which oddly seems to be the only factor you seem to consider when evaluating the information being presented to you. and even if i wasn't you'd still be wrong. fancy degrees don't magically trump facts and sound reasoning.
You should probably take a bow and finish your drink because you haven't presented any new arguments since "I almost have a phd and I just KNOW that any rube can do this stuff." We're not butthurt we're trying to educate you for fucks sake

ok, agreed. strata exist. but there are classes of jobs that are mindless within the stratosphere, and mindless jobs that haven’t been mechanized yet and which have over- or under-representation of identity groups are acceptable places to apply affirmative action, as long as everyone gets their mindless jobs done. yours does not sound mindless, OTOH
however you still souled like a larper to me. prove me wrong.
