If you're successful, america is infinitesimally better than Canada since all of your work stays yours, and there is less regulation (i.e. being smart in the US pays off 100x more than being smart in Canada). But the US is brutal for retards or neets because of the high competition in the job market. There are literal retards in Canada that have 90-110K salaries because its easier to compete when really smart people all escape to the US and high paying jobs aren't that demanded for relatively speaking.

The smartest and most entrepreneurial Canadians who do stay behind almost always leave, and the few who do stay, have to set up Caribbean tax shelters just to avoid paying 53% of their income to the government.

The entire left-wing establishment here wants Canada to become Scandinavia 2.0 and emulate Scandinavian socialism by continuing to pick away again and again at anyone rich by jacking their tax rates. The governments here are almost all controlled by left-wing fanatics who are blocking every meaningful resource investment, paying government office assistants $100,000+ with gold plated benefits to fuck around on Facebook, and stripping out jobs left and right. The only reason this exodus of investment and jobs hasn't led to the collapse already is that in terms of household leverage, we have more household debt per capita than any developed country out there. We endlessly borrow against our inflated house values just to keep our smugness and anti-business practices going, but the whole thing is a house of fucking cards.

I buy insurance through my employer for about 5% of my monthly salary and go to the doctor once a year at most. If I needed surgery or a cast or something, the first $5K would be out of pocket. But if I don't pay it, nothing happens. It doesn't affect my credit or anything.

The rest of the points you're not far off on. Canada is a pretty good place to live, but taxes are fairly high and you have to stay out of the containment zones, Toronto and Vancouver.

I'm not American, but it depends where you go. Just like in Canada. Most of America is technically farmland and suburbs.

There are a lot of trailer parks, but I think there's more suburban single family homes than trailers. More apartments then anything else for sure.
