the movie works basically like this

1. issue on island
2. scientists tell people nature cannot be controleld
3. nay says scoff
4. nay sayers brag about all the new dinosaurs on island, but it's safe
5. said dinosaurs escape and we are supposed to be shocked...in every fucking movie.
6. people who did the warning, main characters get off island, and you would figure lessons learned.

While it was all about dinosaurs, you didn't see any for half the film, and when you did, it was the multimillion dollar animatronic instead of CGI.
Even after that you didn't see dinosaurs in every scene.
This is something none of the sequels followed, especially Jurassic World.
It also wasn't unnecessarily violent.

You're not really meant to be shocked, though. The whole point of seeing one of these movies is to see dinosaurs stomping around and wrecking people's shit.

I thought the action sequences were really well done "lava scene in the room", "fight in the museum" but overall the story (essentially a james bond film) was such utter shit and the diversity casting turned me off "nerdy asian, nerdy nigger". They had a chance to really kill it here and they fucked up.
