"Jews aren't white" is the single dumbest, most pseudoscientific statement this board has ever made. While Jow Forums is totally rational on other issues of racial genetics, reason goes out the window when it comes to the question of "Are Jews white?" Here's why Jews are white:
1. Jews identify as white.
The overwhelming majority of Jews identify as white--94% according to Pew:
And that'sallAmerican Jews--which includes black Jews, Latino Jews, etc. Among Ashkenazi, then, the number must be closer to 100%.
Sure, you might be able to find a random leftist Jew here and there on twitter who says they’re not white, but clearly they’re not in the majority. And anecdotes are not data. When Jews say “fellow whites”, it’s not an attempt to be two-faced—it’s because the majority of them literally do consider themselves to be white.
2. Jews are white biologically
Genetically, Ashkenazi Jews cluster with Southern Europeans the closest—far closer than they cluster with Middle Easterners. And both Jews and Southern Europeans have similar genetic distances from Northern Europeans. In other words, you cannot logically say that Ashkenazi Jews are non-white but Sicilians or Greeks are white.
3. If it's just "cultural", then that means some Jews can become culturally white
If we agree that Jews are genetically white, and we agree that Jews identify as white, the only remaining argument is that Jews aren’t white for cultural reasons. “Well, they don’t act white. They act subversive” etc.
If that's the case, and there's no genetic determinism involved, that means we logically must agree that individual Jews can “shed” their Jewishness. Biology can’t be changed but if it’s just culture and nothing inherent, then there are Jews out there who can and should identify as white.
