A vague reverence is not a religion. There is hardly a human out there who does not have a reverence for mighty trees. A religion requires parables and supernatural entities and a moral code and so forth. Furthermore, the specific type of religion that you believe to espouse, paganism, has the extra requirement of belief in a pantheon of gods, at least two anyway. If you do not meet these requirements then you are not religious a pagan.

I dont believe in a pagan religion. That no longer properly exists. I believe i have a pagan consciousness or genetic memory which in the end makes me reject the major religions because when I go to a church i don't genuinely believe and what I do like about Christianity is usually its more animistic, wisdom side and not its legalistic, temple hebrew side. Basically i think the ideas of Jesus were an aberration and are not even upheld by the Church.

Christianity adopted these things for two reasons.
Reason the first: to destroy their pagan associations. See Christmas. That date was originally Yule. Rather than have Jesus' feast day in summer when he was born, we celebrate the Nativity during what was once Yule because the Church sought to ease pagans into the transition while also eliminating their heathen traditions.
Reason the second: because in localized areas, people kept aspects of their culture that once had, but no longer had pagan associations. They kept these things for cultural reasons. A good example of this would be Christmas trees, which originally were a strictly German thing.

The purpose of Christianity and Islam is to slowly ease you into Judaism. Look at countries with less Abrahamic population like Czech are Sweden where a lot of people are Athiests.
