I doubt it. We could go in there with drones and raids to decapitate the cartels, but as long as the demand is there the drug smuggling and organized crime will keep going on. It would also probably end up causing more problems in the long run than it would help. The Mexican government would lose legitimacy if it allowed the US to conduct operations inside Mexico, and if they didn't allow it, that's a whole nother shitshow. They figured out a long time ago that you can't stop the flow of drugs, the best thing you can do is pick the winners, launder their money, and take a cut.
