To make matters worse, in the first game this girl (Ellie) is found out to have special genes which make her immune to infection, scientists want to harvest her so they can try and use those genes to save humanity, but Joel (protag who looked after her after losing his own daughter) kills the scientists as he doesn't want to lose her, and thats how the first game ended, so making her a lesbian now is even worse since she wont pass those genes on to her kids, and Joel isn't even shown in any trailers yet
