The N-word means "You are a horrible person that doesn't deserve to live BECAUSE you're black." (Notice how being black is the justification.) If a black person says that a to another black person they imply the insult to both the recipient AND the speaker, thereby nullifying the insult. If the speaker isn't black, than the insult is only applied to the recipient, and is therefore, an insult. (Also, the word is only used within conversations with friends, which you most certainly don't have, not in regular conversation.)

The point of banning words such as nigger is to make identifying the problem of Cheap Laborer Crime impossible to discuss coherently. Every word for Black People ends up becoming an insult after a while because being black is a shameful and violent thing to be.

If I say quit acting white it doesn't ring quite right because some people still like being white. If I say quit acting black, everyone knows what is meant. Nobody likes being black, if they are honest.

My black co-worker explained it like this:
Black people apparently have exclusive rights to saying nigger because it's a way of 'taking back' usage of the word and having it be a symbol of empowerment.

Of course this was met with blank stares when I asked if it's supposed to be a symbol of empowerment then why do they still get offended when non-groids say it.
