Not really. A cursory look at the US shows you that mass preferences almost never align with domestic or foreign policy. What you're actually seeing at work is insecure power. If you abolished democracy but kept the otherwise same political system here, you would still have the same problems, because ultimately the judiciary is the sovereign here, and control over the judiciary is thus political, which guarantees that conflict will exist. Democracy makes this peaceful, at least, but the real problem is insecure power and judicial supremacy.

Democracy is one of the worst system when it comes to keeping the peace because there is rarely, if ever an occasion where one or both side (if there aren't more) of a conflict end up dissatisfied by the given judgment solely because it doesn't favor them, when in reality its simply impossible to twist such situations into a beneficial one for everyone involved, mostly due to the whole loads of conflicting opinions that are forced to co-exist under the naive pretense that its possible, so it can be. And concessions, which is more often than not the end result of such conflicts, end up either to be a total farce that has blatant bias toward one side of the argument or applied in such a dishonest & dishearten manner that no one is content of the result, apart from the elites who wrote said concession into law.

What does any of this have to do with voting? Conflict is likely between different factions of elites for various reasons, often economic (see the US Civil War). If you had no voting or appointed senators/congressmen you would still have different blocs scheming to get their guys into power on the Supreme Court for favorable interpretations of the law.

Political parties don't matter that much. They're mostly a headcount for control over the Supreme Court and the civil service. Again, political science research has shown that donors are the principal determinant of party policy. Democracy is mostly just a rubber-stamp on projects elites already cooked up.

It's not "unrestricted". And I don't necessairly agree with everything the speaker presents, but it's a very good explanation as to the fallibility of Democracy or Republic style of govts; as well as explains the role of the Monarch, as a political institution, to people who would otherwise be ignorant. Considering we are now living in tyrannical aristocracies, it's highly relevant today.

A return to the imperial tradition would be better still but we can't know which nobles would support such a restoration. Good question. First, I am not for hereditary monarchs. It would be merit based, and the leader would either be appointed, based upon merit. Or he would be qualified, based upon merit, to run for election. This would be determined by a computer (Productive ability, charity, philanthropy, pious, military service, consistency etc.) to best ensure a virtuous leader, without human fallibility and enshrined into the Constitution.

8 year terms, can serve 5 times. Elections would be viable, every 8 years for only President, Governor, Mayor. All bureaucrats are appointed to a govt role that directly corresponds with their private sector job (min 10 year experience), and serve 5 years.

I would also institute a system similar to the "Roman Tribunal". This dept. could be best understood as "The Peoples Prosecutor". This man, and his team, would have autonomous watch over the monarch and the entire bureaucracy. Audit everyone going in and out, including the monarch and family. Even try and convict, if necessary. They would be tasked in upholding the Govt. to the Constitution and whatever ethical standard it determined, under sever punishment if violated. A new tribunal is appointed every 4 years and the new tribunals first task, is the audit and investigation the previous tribunal and all their work done over the past 4 years to ensure no corruption. Try and convict, if necessary.
