Capitalism has literally fucked everything up so badly you have to be middle class just to become a subsistence farmer

We haven't had capitalism for 50 years.
Why would you want to be a subsistence farmer if you can just buy food at the store
We've created a much more efficient system and now you're getting mad that you can't go back in time to something worse
No, we live under glorious communist rule, of course. Cronyism is capitalism.
Honestly, because I want to devote most of my property to habitat restoration and farm a minority of that land.
>newfags will reply to this and not sage
inb4 the feds raid you for """stockpiling"""
Wow that yard is beautiful OP. Got any more? I’m working on doing this on my yard, establishing fruit trees first.
>apricots
I don’t think this farm is for subsistence. Looks like they are deep into the hobby of gardening. Good for them, looks comfy.
That's a nice garden
>newfags will pretend they aren't newfags
just kill yourself amerimutt
this year it snowed in march, basically every fruit tree I have except apples and pears isnt producing, plus recently I was hit by an hailstorm which ruined my plants
And we've never had ancapism and never will.
fpbp /thread
sure buddy
Real capitalism has never been tired!
Thanks for sharing. I'm moving out of the city next month and the first thing I'm doing at my new place is setting up a garden.
Haha that sucks dude
Fuck off commie
A lot of farmers in the U.S. are very wealthy.
I tried pic related at my house in FL and the 9 types of vines that grow a foot a day or more are just too much work.
>subsistance
>47 different little crops and veggies and greens
sweetie...
>The government allowing you to own private property did this bad thing
>allowing you to own
How gracious of them to pretend this.
THANK YOU MASTER FOR ALLOWING ME TO OWN LAND
I KNOW IF I DO NOT PAY MY TAX ON IT YOU WILL TAKE IT AWAY
ILL BE A GOOD BOY
>subsistence farming has basically been replaced in the West by more efficient commercial farming
>it's only in the second and third world, where people can barely afford to feed themselves and their families, that modern capitalism hasn't taken hold and this practice still exists
Yes OP, please tell me more about how capitalism has failed.
That's literally true though. Humans don't own land. It's a delusional concept.
>paying money to (((corporations))) is a much better system that growing your own food and being self-sufficient
wow you really changed my mind
>People aren't allowed to be self-sufficient now
>Praise capitalism!
Nice spooks, kiddo
>allowing you to own
Fuck Marxism.
Fuck Capitalism.
Fuck normal faggots.
This
Who's stopping you from being self sufficient? Arable land is like $3k an acre.
Yes, 'allowing you to own', brainlets. Every other system is about arbitrary restrictions on the ownership of property. It's negative rights (free market capitalism) vs positive rights.(whatever bullshit oppressive system you pussies advocate)
Tell me, soiboi, when was the last time poor man was or could become a farmer?
The poor worked for the farmers who were most of the time middle-to-upper class. Only in times such as ancient Egypt there was those poor farmers you dream of, and they were poor just because they were taxed more than 60% of their income.
Being a farmer is no poor man's job. After all, you have to have some skills to manage the farm. Being poor proves that you have no such skills.
so by that logic, every armed citizen is merely "allowing" police officers to live? You sound like a terrorist.
The final redpill is that there are no such thing as negative or positive rights. There is only your will and your ability to enforce it.
The only thing fitting about your analogy is that it's retarded. Every "system" is about what freedoms the state should and shouldn't take away from people, for better or worse. If you're against capitalism, you're in favor of the state arbitrarily restricting ownership of property.
FPBP
It's a bullshit dichotomy. Marx was trying to envelope the entire fucking planet into a form of Germanic Idealism in a post-industrial age, due to the gross abuses and conditions that workers suffered. Many desperate workers supported a socialist cause because all of Marxism is predicated on marketing, not because workers were ideologues. As in, marketing the basic truth that things could be better, conditions could improve, they should not have to face these abuses alone. Many workers still wanted to support their church, their culture and all of this, and would've certainly rejected the insanity of communism if they ever read a single (1) fucking book on the issue. Aside from all of my personal moral opinions of it, Marxism is a provably archaic and self destructive system that cannot mitigate its ends with human necessities, and there is not a single instance of this not being the case anywhere it as a concept took hold.
Trade unions are still useful because they help workers bargain working conditions, they boost the manufacturing sectors of countries. Look at red states that have a right to work law, their manufacturing sector went to shit if you gauge it by despotism, working conditions, labor quality, the middle class or any of that shit. But the people who support Right to Work are either legitimately ignorant of the issue or are post-Marxist neoliberals who work on K Street or Wall Street, and give zero fucks about the destiny of this country. So also fuck capitalists, or anyone who unironically uses the word capitalism in current year +3 for that matter.
you dont have to be anything to be subistence farmer you utter moron
subsistence farming = living only from farming, which means you dont need to depend on outer civilization
Capitalism leads to corporatism.
America has been corporate since Rockefeller.
It's still capitalism. There is no defending America or capitalism, to do so proves you are retarded.
I'm not even American and I know your laws.
>the power of eminent domain
Witch translates to:
"You own nothing"
And
"If we want it we will take it, if you refuse you can sit in our prison and be fucked by our system even more"
>Capitalism leads to corporatism.
>kikes leads to corporatism.
ftfy
Figure it out yourself.
No amount of explanation will amount to you independently seeking knowledge
You can make a system with rocks
>ogga lives in a capitalist society
>ugs buy and sell rocks
>ogga wants all the money (hides)
>ogga starts to capitalize on the rocks
>ogga starts to get power
>other ugs copy ogga
>corporations are made
Basic system, may have a few flaws but I typed it out in 1 minute
That's my dream retirement setup
Yes, before infrastructure. If I planned to live in a fucking wigwam with no electricity or water source, sure, self-sufficiency costs $3k an acre. Now if I actually want to be able to bathe...
Shut him up huh?
>much more efficient
At making profit, not at making food. The shit you buy at the store tastes horrible and isn't as good for you.
You need land and a place to fucking live. You need basic resources like clean water, shelter, food and heat in the winter.
thats a pretty garbage setup. raised beds make it very difficult to till/turn soil, so the dirt gets depleted pretty quickly. they also fall apart, and monoculture is never a good idea if you are going for high density sustainable production
More like 105 years. Fed was created in 1913.
there is nothing stopping you from doing this. seeds are very cheap. make your own compost. get a shovel and a pick and get to work. read up on permaculture. get some nitrogen fixers in the ground. what is your climate like?
Like christians, most capitalists don't actually know what capitalism is. Capitalism is simply a system that revolves around profit-seeking in which individuals own the means of production. If you have both of those boxes checked, it's true capitalism. I'm sorry nobody on nu/shit/ can deal with reality.
A lack of money. Land is NOT cheap.
same here bro, feels good. 3 apple 3 pair and a peach, all different varieties. also have a berry patch, herb garden that provides all the culliary herbs i need, and some pollenator flower beds.
next step is trellacing for grape vines and then a chicken coop. at that point i will at least have daily protein provided, herbs, and fruit for 3-4 months of the year.
i see. well make some money. there are plenty of ways to do that too, and it really isnt that hard. just get to work man. good luck, i hipe you carve out a place for your kingdom and your castle and are a good steward to the land while you rule it.
Goddamn I need property.
tilling is inferior to no-till
>i see. well make some money.
Did you miss the OP?
If you really want to be a farmer then you are going to have to work.
What's that got to do with the price of land or other resources?
>Capitalism has literally fucked everything up so badly you have to be middle class just to become a subsistence farmer
this is the ultimate blackpill. all I want is to be a subsistence farmer but the boomers took that possibility away
being a commercial farmer is not the same as being a subsistence farmer
Because without a JOB you will not afford any of it.
How so?
Raised beds are great in a permaculture set up, if you know what you're doing.
>No True Scotsman
Marx never made that mistake, he called most any systematic abuse a product of the Bourgeois, and unironic communist faggots still take him seriously to this day.
>Cronyism is capitalism
>Cronyism is voluntary exchange
Sure buddy.
so?
When someone literally owns the means of trade (the dollar) and can inflate and deflate that any time they want for themselves or their friends, you don't have a free market at all. The only forms of money should be things like gold or crypto. Or if you must have a government backed money system it should work like the Reichmark where money is backed by labor. As some user pointed out last night, the Reichmark was the first bitcoin in a sense because its backed by work just like bitcoin.
I just wanted to be a fur trader living in the mountains of my country.
But Germany is gone and my dreams are gone.
>LARPing your garden into an old timey farm is expensive
No fucking shit, retard
Hate to break it to you, but your pic related is definitely someone from the upper class.
agriculture is political
it's literally what created politics
in many ways, agriculture is just
as detrimental to the human race
as industrialization/automation
This is so retarded it actually gave me a stomach ache. I have to go shit now, for at least ten minutes. Thanks, asshole.
>Yeah, fuck growing food and eating it.
>ou have to be middle class just to become a subsistence farmer
No you dont. YOure not thinking outide the box.
>this is retarded
>does not explain but gives a nigger teir "oh that hurted"
Like I said, it took me 60 seconds to make but is the basic formula for capitalism
Threadly reminder that (((lawns))) are a trick to keep people from growing their own food and instead tend to useless fucking grass.
>Not knowing the joy of watching a plant grow from a seed to blossom to fruit.
You are not a man if you don't
That's capitalism you slut. Banking is capitalism.
vegetables are anti nutrients unless you ferment them, that's why i grow mostly cabbage for making kraut
see
This is true, but only because capitalism made food production so cheap and efficient, a normie cant competes.
>ferment
Or cook, cooking starts the breakdown of the long hydrocarbon chains making it easier for your body to absorb the nutrients in your food. I remember a study where they feed two snakes a diet of mice but one eat raw mouse while the other eat cooked mouse, the one that eat the cooked mouse was fatter than the one that eat the raw mouse.
>the Reichmark where money is backed by labor
Reminder this was far worse than usual fiat currency since the workers could only exchange their meme credits for specific state approved living expenses and them realizing they'd never get real money is the real cause of WW2 (need to distract the populace and getting the war economy going, literally the same reason the US keeps war mongering in modern day) but retards on here believe Nazi propaganda about how all their economic growth was definitely real repeated on youtube videos.
if you eat your meat cooked then eat your vegetables raw, if you eat your meat raw then eat your vegetables cooked
>Vegetables are anti-nutrients
Stop lying on the internet, Nigel.
and shove them both up your ass
You can HAVE a job and not afford it. Most people are employed and yet most people aren't landowners.
wow
>Capitalism is voluntary exchange
Hilariously, not one word in the definition of capitalism involves voluntary action.
its true though, vegetables contain quite a few anti-nutrients
Why not both. It's good to be prepared in case of happenings.
I grew up on a farm, molded by it. I didnt see a supermarket till I was alredy a man, by that time it was nothing to be but great quality at low prices.
Shop smart, shop S-mart!
Farming can still be cheap as fuck but you have to learn to live with the high land prices and the price of expensive farming equipment.
If you want to do some serious farming, you need at least a couple of million dollars to buy the farm and equipment.
On the other hand, you can very easily and cheaply start growing some crops in your garden.
>You like the private ownership of property? LAright great
>Oh, you want socialize healthcare? So you're a fucking socialists?
>Well, if your a socialist, that means you're against the ownership of private property
kek
