Why do American cities feel so dangerous to walk in? It's just so utterly bizarre. American cities always feel kind of shady and people say to avoid certain "bad areas". Even in the nicer neighborhoods in cities you don't feel totally safe at night.

Worst places I've been are Oakland and North Las Vegas. Overall, cities are dangerous to walk in and certainly feel that way because cities attract the worse kinds of people overall, that's regardless of whether of not there are minorities.
