Don't you think that we are actually much more closer to this "dark anti-utopian future" than we believe? Not so long ago, i started to noticing some shit that looks and sounds very alike to all this things we saw in "Blade Runner" or "Ghost in the Shell" etc. Let me show you.
> Technological progress This one easy. No one can say that now we have a lot of stuff, that 20-30 years ago we couldn't even dream of. Touchscreens, virtual reality, programs that can recognize not only your words, but your voice and face, robot vacuum-cleaner. Yes, all of this on its very beginning, but just imagine perspectives in only 10 years from now.
> Society Remember this strange people and their outfits in cyberpunk movies from 90's? Clothes in acid and mottled colors, weird unnatural hair, absolute debauchery, society is immersed in hedonism and indulgence to weaknesses. And now look on this "millennials" and say you don't find anything familiar. Media inspires teenagers the same hedonistic image. The most popular music in the world now(hip-hop) glorifies excesses and obscene "philistine" lifestyle. The same colorful clown dresses and colored hair. Uncovered corruption. Google video "Drag queen kid" - doesn't look familiar to you?
> Anti-utopian political system World is gradually losing its mind. Europe is captured by migrants whose crimes are being hid. The UK controls every step of the ordinary citizen. China is a totalitarian regime with digital "points of obedience." Post-soviet countries are captured by criminals in the government. Seems like there is no a single safe place in the world left.
I think, we have to be ready to this close collapse and prepare to life in anti-utopian world.
>actually much more closer to this "dark anti-utopian future" than we believe? The fuck? No, we're exactly as close as I believe, and I believe we're already in it, not approaching it. And the word you're looking for is 'dystopia'.

Hey user, who would you want to be in this new reality?
Thanks for you more effortful post than average. I am pretty amazed at how intense the shills are here today. Is it due to the obama happening and the Child Trafficking scandal in england:
>but just imagine perspectives in only 10 years from now.
Moore's law is dead. Moore's revenge is currently playing out with the likes of IoT hacks and silicon-level security vulnerabilities in the majority of consumer and commercial-grade processors threaten the security of the planetary computing grid.
We are going backwards in many areas and forwards in others, but technology is actually slowing down in terms of advancement speed overall.
>No one can say that now we have a lot of stuff, that 20-30 years ago we couldn't even dream of.
True story: >visiting my family >father and younger siblings watching some episode of Star Trek: TNG >father pauses episode >"kids, what do you see here?" >idunno, Captain Picard >"no, but what's he holding?" >looks like a book or some shit >"it's a tablet" >... >and? >"THIS EPISODE IS 30 YEARS OLD AND PEOPLE BARELY HAD HOME COMPUTERS!" >"Handheld devices weren't a thing back then, much less tablets"
We're literally living in a science fiction world.
William Edwards
But where we actually going back in progress? I mean, in technologies and science. But i have to admit that, yes, we totaly slow down in science.
Evan Reyes
yep. cross between Gibson's Idoru sequence where both Jow Forumss are the Walled City, some weird variant of PK Dick's dystopia with a faint glimmer of hope of something out of Reynolds or Banks not a pretty picture
Science fiction is a self-fulfilling prophecy in many cases. Young minds read/watch the sci-fi and the technological "wizardry" is implanted in their mushy little brains. Some of these kids grow to become scientists and wizards who then proceed to make the creations of their sci-fi-inspirations.

You are completely right. Were probably going to end up in a totalitarian system by the 2030s.
Charles Turner
The wealth and progress generated by the industrial revolution and the burning of fossil fuels for energy has peaked. Its almost finished.
Unless we can find a way to harness fusion power not much is going to happen on a broad scale like you are suggesting.
Some of it might happen in the wealthier enclaves of the globe. But how long will that last? Who knows?
I saw a young boy with eye liner and unnaturally colored dyed hair today.... you have no idea how bad things really are

Everything is imitation. Our existance is an imitation billions, trillions of levels deep.
Base reality probably went through all the stages we've seen throughout our history. Is it any wonder it pops up in pop culture 30 years before it becomes "reality"? It's already happened a trillion levels up.
