His freedom of speech wasn't infringed upon. Making newspapers is a private business operation. Freedom of speech means the government cannot infringe upon your speech, meaning they can't threaten you with fines or jail for your speech. The exceptions to this are things like threatening people, or things like slander, libel, or any sort of defamation.

I think it's more like since the kids are legal, the parents are sent back and the children are stuck here. So the separation of family bullshit is because of the parents having a kid in the US.

We wouldn't have any reason to get unbalanced, living out an ancient program that would have died long ago if it didn't lead us to some measure of happiness and meaning.

This shit is complicated, the world is complicated, but everyone wants to reduce it to simple good vs evil narratives. You yourself, to advocate such a position, have distorted and corrupted values. And you have chosen your simple-minded beliefs, lied to yourself to eliminate conflicting information, in a grand plan to justify your authoritarianism.

They've basically monopolized the pathways of information distribution. They've made it so that if they don't want people to hear what you're saying, they just don't carry it on their networks. And their networks are the only way anyone has a chance to be exposed to your point of view. You can talk all you want in a tiny bubble, but your actual right to free speech has been made irrelevant.

There's also the fact that one side of the debate has basically installed a social hegemony, refusing to do business or speak with anyone who has any blemish on their ideological purity. There are certain thoughts you can't even voice. Some of these things are REAL problems that need to be solved-- for example, the fact that 10% of the population, through no fault of their own, is completely unemployable. But even saying that certain people might have a genetic predisposition to a low IQ is saying those people just aren't as important or worthwhile as us smarties. And mentioning that this genetic predisposition varies by race... whew boy! In their minds, that's basically synonymous with saying that we have a moral imperative to commit genocide.
