CSU is hemorrhaging support because Seehofer and CSU have been in positions of power throughout the height of refugee crisis,yet haven't done shit to prevent it or stop the coalition that was agreed upon. Bavarian state elections are soon and the CSU is going to lose a lot of seats to AFD, because of lifelong CSU supporters abandoning them. He is just saying this about Merkel to protect CSU power, but he won't actually stop working with CDU.
