Let's be honest. Getting up and going to most jobs isn't exactly a glamourous or fulfilling life. My friend who worked at a local chain store basically wanted to kill himself for a decade after sitting on a checkout and sweeping up forever. Sitting at home, living in the society your forefathers built, comfy and actuall having the time to stop and stare (and smell the roses), keep up with world events that slip by the notice of others and so forth, isn't that bad.
Not to say I don't want to start a family or waste every day. I'm part of a two-family-member carerer team for my mom and have been for over a decade. Being a 'NEET' is part of the responsability since I can't be away for more than a few hours at a time. It's a sacrifice I willingly make as I love my family. That said, I have learned a trade and do plan to start a family sometime in my thirties, as I don't want to die alone and lonely.
