He actually didnt in this case, he did nothing to get his suspended sentence activated. He revealed nothing not in the public domain and specifically asked the police if he could film and where from. Its relatively clear that its a wrongthink motivated prosecution, as with fransen et al. Which is pretty much the definition of political prisoner.

That's a tricky thing to do, purely because the legal case against him is very clear and apolitical. The injunctions he violated (by his own admission) are there to ensure criminal justice is administered fairly. Trying to make Tommy, and his imprisonment, the focus makes it easy to pigeon-hole 'us' as being opposed to justice, law & order, etc.
