No, the average person is too stupid to be entrusted to manage their own affairs.

people are naturally split, on ethnic, religious and other lines. instead of unifying the nation or even solve its problems, the political parties are instead encouraged to split the people even further so they can get elected (including on non-issues such as sexuality, sexes, and so on)

on a small scale, for example a small country with a homogeneous population, and strong culture / traditions, it can be used effectively (for example say a city state in say greece). however on a larger scale it tends to just be a farce for the rulers. you can't honestly expect an indian to vote and his vote to have any effect whatsoever.
voting should not be for the sake of voting, it should be to decide on solutions, ultimately communities should be making their own solutions, and not rely on things being "voted" so things can change in their favour

But that's not reality now is it? People are too stupid to see past politicians bullshit. Let me give you an example:

Leftist politicians don't give a shit about you, poverty, or anything else for that matter. They are monsters and selfish cunts just wearing a mask of compassion to hide their true goal - to gain total control over you. Advocating for free healthcare, more money into welfare, nationalizing everything etc is simply a means to an end and it's simply to gain votes from idiots who actually believe them - while their at it why not import tonnes of niggers and be pro immigration so we can get their vote too?

It works in keeping stability. When things go to shit, people are forced to take blame for their votes. Overall general popular choices of the public has people feel some level of control. However, it is shitty when you're going for long term strategies. You're representatives are also only as competent as the people's discretion.
