Islam is much different depending on the local culture.

For instance Muslims in Africa are big into FGM, but that isn't common in Indonesia or Bangladesh.

Islam has different rules for Muslims and for Kuffar (infidels) so there are a lot of things the Muslims are allowed to do to Kuffar that are explicitly forbidden for other Muslims.
