Look up some historic books about the weimar republic (actually its a modern term, at the time noone would have called the state weimar republic as the official name was still the german empire or simply germany as it had been before the war.) in general, german ones and they can be contemporary too.
Thing is that degeneracy, as in widespread childprositution, all kinds of fetishism, weird new social science, orgies and occultism were constrained to the inner city of Berlin and a few other metropoles, with the partakers, aside from the prositution busyness, being mostly of the borgois class while the countryside and most small towns, also munich and southern germany in general were still conservative af which is one of the reasons there was a backlash supported by greater swathes of society as thought later on.
Basically, weimar degeneracy was a loud, but rather small echochamber.
Oh, also a lot of immigration, that was something everyone felt though.

Governing post-war Germany was simply nightmare mode politics and the democrats that tried were often genuine patriots but simply incapable of solving the problems without using force which could only be applied by the reactionarys (ex soldiers and bureaucratic class) who would (and were) empowered by every allowance and sat in an uneasy truce with the politicians.
