Women are the "gatekeepers" of sex, they can only bear ~1child/year so they are the 'selectors' and should only mate with few partners (genetic best they can get). If they fuck around with a lot of guys, microchimerism and resource-draining pregnancy can result on top of the oxytocin reward mechanism getting "diluted."

Men can spray & pray and have kids, so it's more 'natural' for them to have more than one partner and switching it up isn't so bad for them because they don't have to physically devote resources to a child so there's no real biological consequence to having kids with a lot of women, except that they might not know who their kids are (which doesn't matter if they're not forced to give them resources).
