So, they do things like attempt to disqualify the criticism by naming the auidence as deficient or contemptable. If this does not work, it goes a step further and they flip the fuck out and go insane and eventually have to "take a break from social media because of all the haters"

I can answer that, but it's kind of boring. the people that were creating the Fed needed to secure more votes at that time. It was thought that the powerful anti-saloon league would be able to secure more money by legitimizing personal income tax instead of alcohol (at the time, 40% of the nation's tax revenue came from taxing alcohol). In 1913 laws were passed that legalized income tax but there still needed to be more influence to make the Fed happen. the temperance movement had a lot of female supporters and suffragettes that could be used for political gain if they could get short term policies passed that women were in favor of. prohibition of alcohol was a big one. it's early form passed before women could vote but it had a lot of limitations. the ability to actually enforce it nationally would come when women could be basically bought to vote in a certain direction favorable to the bankers that wanted to establish the ability to build massive amounts of infrastructure on credit (basically the Fed with no regulation). they needed prohibition to pass to do that. the failure of prohibition was a perfect, albeit unintended consequence that masked the fact that the unregulated runaway credit system lead to an industrial revolution and then an extreme stock market crash. without the bankers wanting to secure a massive line of credit to build an industrial powerhouse, the suffragettes would've gained pretty much no ground and would've fizzled out like the half a dozen times that they tried to unify on a national scale before that.

I'm in my mid-twenties. About ten years ago I couldn't take the general direction of the video game industry, as I saw where things were going. I remember one of the final straws for me was seeing people bitch about Gears of War.
Specifically, I remember people complaining about their body types and the fact that there weren't any female soldiers. When I saw the video game writers pick it up and run with it, I knew that it wouldn't be long until I wasn't welcome at all and that companies would capitulate and start to be infiltrated.
I also remember some of the then-new Rooster Teeth guys really rubbing me the wrong way due to their blatant political bullshit.
Haven't touched a video game since I was 16 as a result. It went from dumb fun like Duke Nukem to outright political propaganda.
