I've written here so many elaborate walls of texts and got tired already about why this guy, in similar way media does, is avoiding/ignoring certain topics. He's a respected clinical psychologist. He really knows what he's talking about when it comes to personality, personal motivation, and semi-innate behaviors and preferences. As a motivational speaker/self-help guru, he is definitely one of the better ones.

But he suffers from Freud syndrome. He is really smart and ahead of his peers on his subject of expertise, so he thinks he should be smarter than most in practically every other subject. He IS smarter than most, but that doesn't mean he's right and when he's faced with answering a question that he doesn't actually know the answer to, he makes an educated guess without reflecting on whether or not his guess might be wrong. He almost never says he doesn't know or acknowledge that it's a topic he isn't especially familiar with.

If you want to understand personality really well, I would recommend his lecture series on Youtube. His magnum opus, Maps of Meaning, is interesting but not especially correct or insightful. I enjoy watching his debates for the same reason I enjoy watching Tucker Carlson, he goes up against people who are dumber than him and worse at debating, but who, for some reason, think they will obviously win against a more skilled and experienced opponent. There are many lulz to be had.
