Nobody here is going to take this post seriously, so I'll offer my opinion.
Israelis do not control the media. There is a massive rift between diaspora and Israeli jews, and it isn't some lame conspiracy about playing both sides. Diaspora jews are typically extremely liberal, involved in Hollywood, media, arts, and very contrarian because they see themselves as the eternal minority in a largely-Christian and European West. 90% of diaspora jews are Ashkenazi jews, meaning their families came from Poland, Russia, and Germany. The Ashkenazi by default are extremely liberal, and many of them were ex-Soviets.
Israeli jews on the other hand, first of all, are not even Ashkenazi in majority. Only about 40-45% of Israel's jewish population is Ashkenazi, a large number of them Russian/Soviet. The next-largest population of Israeli jews are Mizrahim, or Arab jews, from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, and some even from Iran. These Mizrahim/Arab jews are the polar opposite of the Ashkenazi for the most part. They are usually extremely conservative, anti-Islam, anti-Palestinian, and critical of arab politics. During the Yom Kippur War, soldiers captured from the Egyptian and Syrian armies prayed that their interrogator would not be Mizrahim, for the Mizrahim have a blood vengeance against their arab oppressors. The Ashkenazi by contrast are very liberal, like I said, and most diaspora support palestinians. The mizrahim don't give a flying fuck about palestinians, and if Israel was 100% mizrahim jewish, they would have thrown them 'to the sea' ages ago.
