What's it like to live in California?

I'm only here until I can afford to leave. My work transferred me here years ago and I've been stuck ever since. At least here the local government isn't fucktarded.

as for what it's like, it's heaven on earth if you have a shit-ton of money and don't have to go into the city, like, ever, and know which beaches the beaners haven't found yet.

I live in San Diego, and it's not the best. I know everyone in my neighborhood and the gangsters are scared of my mom (lol), so I'm plopping my ass down and voting red till shit hits the fan.

SF is an absolute shithole, they have some amazing restaurants/bars, but overall it is a gigantic shithole. Most areas other than SF aren't so bad (though still expensive to live at). Overall, people are ok, as long as you stay off of politics and such. Outside the cities, California still has a lot of gorgeous landscapes and gets pretty affordable.

San Francisco is 10x as bad as anything you see on the news. Not only is it filled to the brim with scab-picking, screaming homeless drug addicts, but it's packed to the gills with every subhuman there is. Elderly Chinese women with teeth pointing in every direction rub elbows with jaundiced, thick-lipped niggers. Fat, mumbling Filipinos waddle over stinking puddles of piss. Spics kill each other with machetes -and no one cares. No one speaks the same language, and everyone is a fucking retard. Since the city is roughly 60% FOB chinks, driving anywhere is enough to make your hair turn white. Every single square inch reeks of sun baked, stale piss, unless you're in one of the areas that smells like raw sewage. Crime is rampant, people are randomly assaulted on a regular basis, and shootings are approaching a dozen a week. Property crime is a given, and if your car is smashed into, the official reaction is "you should have left your car empty and unlocked." The local government does nothing but hand out free needles and probably has hands in the rampant meth trade. San Francisco is a shithole in every sense of the word, and should burn to the ground as soon as possible.

This is the shit I see everyday on my walk to the train from work in SF. There are some really nice parts of the city IE presidio, marina, outer sunset and Richmond, there’s some great food and places, but it really is a soul crushing city. There’s no beauty or charm to it. It’s metropolis in real life. The people are the worst and the smell is just as bad. I step over heroine needles every day, and this is outside of 3,000$+ a month for a studio apartments. It’s bizarre to me how blind the people are here, I really don’t understand

Living in my parents house in Hermosa Beach they live on the 2500 acre ranch in cen Cal. House has been passed down from grandparents so under prop 13 so taxes are only $1200 a year. wake up to perfect weather every morning go for a surf session then hang out at the coffee shop. Work part time as a life guard. mostly whites here nice small so cal Beach town feeling. I'm living the dream. none of you will ever have this because your flyover trash.

yep my parents vacation house. that is how successful people build an empire for their families. How else would a 24 year old afford a 3.8 million dollar shack on the beach. They come by a few times a year and stay in the studio above the garage other times I air b and b it out for an average or $8k per month. life is good.

My family has 3 vacation houses my sister lives in the Tahoe lake house. This is how it is if your family is well rooted in California's history not like a flyover oakie who just moved here for my California dream.

Had to walk down some shady streets in SF a few months ago. I actually did see needles and dudes shooting up in a bunch of spots. Even walked through a little hobo community of people screaming at each other. Shit was depressing.

Totally depends how wealthy you are. San fran is pretty hard to avoid the bad shit, but go a few miles from it and you can live work and commute in paradise.

It's the same deal as anywhere else but the wealth disparity is much bigger.

I live in California, It's funny how some of you skew the narrative to fit your political agenda. Even in L.A. there are a lot of amazing places. I went jogging in Hermosa Beach, in the South Bay and it's beautiful, there wasn't any needles or homeless fucking around. It's funny, you drive around LA county and it's just dirty, graffiti everywhere, terrible traffic, ancient infrastructure, just the worst, like basic government services are doing the barest minimum.

As soon as you cross the border into Orange County, it's wide freeways, smooth pavement, graffiti gets painted over almost immediately, government apparently does its job, etc. Although I have to admit, the cancer is spreading. We now have a homeless problem, and a liberal judge is preventing us from kicking them out. OC probably won't be red much longer. I hope I can get out of here before it flips.

Lived in LA for a few years (out of California now) but a lot of my family still lives in the Bay Area and I visit them once in a while. As for LA, let's see... almost 10% sales tax, perfectly normal to sit in traffic for two hours to get across town, you can see the mountains only for a couple days after heavy rain before the smog covers them up again, seemingly infinite concrete and urban sprawl, and most places are too dangerous to walk alone in after dark, in fact I would stop your car as little as possible. Regarding San Francisco, I know how much Uncle Mike rags on it (while choosing to live close to there over anywhere else), but we got rid of the Californians themselves and their government we would be golden.
