Any similarities are pure coincidence and probably were enacted for fundamentally different reasons. You couldn't get away with even dog whistling the milder "nazi" ideas in this country without getting immediately shouted down. Most have no philosophical or ideological beliefs but those that do who are "right" wing don't speak up in public, and those that do will be immediately outnumbered by their more vocal counterparts. The lemmings notice this, and on a subconscious or conscious level decide to side with the strong horse, or at the very least refuse to publicly take a stand against it.

He stupidly starts conflicts with stronger states that he cannot win.
He constantly whines about the bad things that were done to him.

The nation is half full of people detached from reality, spouting propaganda, secure in the knowledge that the leader will hurt other people but THEY are safe, the master race. They expect to benefit from all the horror and they just don't care if different kinds of people get hurt.

As for the last point, yes Americans expect that the American president has their best interests at heart with his policy decisions. They do not expect that the president of their country is going to make policy decisions that are catering to foreigners at the expense of the native population. Unfortunately we cannot spread our quality of life evenly to all, It's a zero sum game.

We set up a secure southern border and then work to topple the mexican government using the CIA. We then move to install a puppet leader and work with said puppet leader to run military operations eliminating gangs, and crime ruthlessly. Reduce the militarization of the border following the rejuvenation of mexico and provide monetary incentive to relocate back to mexico.
