Consumerism makes sheep of us all

"Consumerism breaks people by devaluing human connectedness, socializing self-absorption, obliterating self-reliance, alienating people from normal human emotional reactions, and by selling the idea that purchased products – not themselves and their community – are their salvation."

(((Consumerism))) Just the name alone is kinda fucked. You consume things, no balance, no giving back, just consume. SJW's are a product of late stage consumerism and they don't even get it.
>muh 52 flavors of gender
>muh clothes and hair is a statement of being

> SJW's are a product of late stage consumerism and they don't even get it.

They mimic themselves. They become parodies of "good" and act just as badly as everyone else while doing so.

Punching a Nazi is still violence.

Fat acceptance too. Yes because it's so good to be 400 fucking pounds of Rotten Ronnies the like

Extend this line of thinking far enough and you begin to see how absolutely atrocious billionaires like Bezos, Gates, Buffett and private project programs like Space-X truly are.

When everyone has a private jet the space ship and flight to Mars is the ultimate consumer good.

yep pretty much. True leftism was subverted.

There is always desire to be something more within human. Usually it manifest itself trough materialistic ways, sexual ways, trough drugs or parenthood example. It is endless chasing, rat-race that leads nowhere but keeps you busy trough own creation that people calls as life.

We can't remember our time as toddlers because we didn't exist in that time. We had no identity. Only when years has gone while we gathered data from our environment we created identity. When we have our identity, we decide what matters to us. Then we experience impulsive feelings when things didn't go as we wanted.

We are piece of life that creates own image and plays it (Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image). We get so tangled to our own creation that it can kill us and bring us into hell. We think that something or someone causes our misery even when we alone create everything within.

We have all this mysterious desire to do something, be something more. It usually manifest itself trough sexual ways, materialistic ways, trough parenthood, dating, drugs, games, food, alcohol.. you name it. Trough that it leads nowhere, it keeps us happy for a moment and then we need more. So where we are now? We are piece of life that want to experience bigger part of it. Trough physical ways it finds not that part and when that need to expand finds no expression we create this pain within. So what to do? This is what meditation is all about. We wan't to think nothing, be nothing because that is just the data we gathered from the physical and created self from it. When we learn to be still, just be as piece of life, something start to happen that seems to expand you into everywhere. It seems to that consciousness, awareness is the basic that exist and everything else it is manifest of it.

I think that what ((they)) wan't is to bind us more and more into physical, sins, into that rat-race i wrote about above, so that we wouldn't learn or even think about this.

both of what pass for far right and far left these days are essential larpers collecting and displaying signifiers. without the requisite party structure and organization a so-called fascist or communist is just some fag dressed like one

Yes mostly and also distraction (It seems like you didn't touch on this, you may have intended to though). With a distracted, disconnected, disheartened community its very easy to remain at the top and push people to where you want them to go. From what I understand of meditation though it's also a tool to be used to hone your ability to think without going off on tangents, to be able to be focused on one idea and see it through. Social media and tech has the complete opposite effect it seems.

Ya politics (mostly) has devolved into just another consumed identity.

>all that is solid melts into air

Think of how different the world would have been, had the post 2009 bailouts not gone directly to the banks, but to the mortgage and loan holders and THEN through them, to the banks.

You gonna die anyway, so enjoy this shitty ride as much as you can. I mean if you're willing to sit 8 hours in a shitty office to get paid, why not treat yourself for whatever you wish to desire?

True indeed. I absolutely understand your outlook.

But what if you could get by without sitting in a shitty office for 8 hours a day? What if, instead of everyone rushing to produce, rushing to consume, we could spend say, 4 hours a day doing what made us happy, instead of 8 hours (or a lot more) of office drudgery?

Do we consume because we need to produce, or produce because we need to consume? Add to this all the artificial stimulus, scientifically designed to get us all to consume MORE and MORE, of things we do not need, and which may indeed be bad for us, make us less happy over all, and you have a very unhealthy society.

a wild koskenkorva psuedo-philosopher appears. Shove that bullshit right in your asshole, Pekka.

Well it doesn't have to be about individual desire and pleasure. It could about coming together and having more than a vapid shallow experience alone, more than one more dopamine rush. But sadly you are right to some degree for some stuck in that life it seems like a reasonable idea just to suffer through most of it so you can escape it all one more time.
Pretty much beat me to it, but I typed it so hey

I guess the slaves from before were thinking the exact same.

kek...

But we are not living in medieval eras, where life was just cheap in the sense that you dont need big pays to live a reasonable life. Times has changed and given this very exact time we are living in, its literally impossible not to part of the this consumerism lifestyle. You can't escape unless you move outta civilization and start eating leaves and trees.

We consume, sometimes for the heck of it, but also we consume, cause we need it and its necessary. Personally. i'm not a big on this consumerism lifestyle, but i'm not totally free of its effects. In other words, I do it reasonably and moderately, and I dont judge those who went overboard, cause its either all they know, or filling up some gap that's missing in their lives

There is a drive to always consume more and more, a better car, a larger house, a stay at a better hotel etc.
It's a drive just like the drive that tells us to fuck or to eat.
The problem is though, that these drives represent traits that increased our reproductive success 100k years ago but they sure don't help in today's society. It's a maladaption to today's context.

>cause its either all they know, or filling up some gap that's missing in their lives

And this is the very thing I suggest is what's wrong in society at present, a trait that's being heavily exploited, in fact exploited as never before. It's what makes us more and more unhappy.... It's become an unhealthy addiction.

most people generally deep down know that any sort of job they are doing is pretty much overrated and could take less time than their superiors want them to do, hence they feel like they are hostages to this rat-life and really unhappy with their situations, and spending the money that they rewarded in the expense of their freedom, they go on consumerism in order to express their freedom. It's ironic lifestyle, but what chance do we really have tho. We are stuck in it, so we might as well embrace it.

>It's a maladaption to today's context.

A maladaption to the point where it drives the prosperous part of the world to exploit the less well off, destabilizing their countries, causing them to seek opportunities elsewhere.

The reason Africans are flooding into the EU and Mexicans have and continue to flood north, is directly due to the easy consumerism the "West" has created for itself.

Now the slaves are the kings and women are turning into men.
Jews need to be re-chained, this is the only way to restore the natural order.
All Hail Feudalism.
