I love my pre-lock 686, and would gladly buy other pre-lock S&W revolvers, but there isn't really any reason to buy any of their new production revolvers. I have a shield too that is ok, but I mostly just bought that because they were too fucking cheap to pass up when they had their rebates going on. I think I got it for like $230 including the FFL transfer fee.
