The topic up I bring up for discussion is the rising deforestation across the world. The massive rise in deforestation began in early 1900s but really took off post WW2 during the BOOMER years.
We are more rapidly turning our world into a desert. Are we going to continue to allow this? Or are we going to follow in the boomers footsteps and let generations down the road sort it out for themselves when it's completely fucked. Canada has the lowest deforestation rate in the world @ less than 0.02, and it's on the decline.
All of those areas will all grow back. There's nothing wrong with sustainable forest management. Wood has to come from somewhere.

planting trees is one thing but old growth forest are an ecosystem that you can't just grow back, it needs centuries if not millenias before the entire ecosystem is reconstructed
