It essentially boils down to this, it is used as a political tool to distract the people whenever a controversy arises.
This has been happening for years and it really hasn't been destabilizing enough to cause people to rile up.
The problem we have is that the elections are coming up on July and the major candidate is a socialist (borderline Maduro) and most of the internal conflict has been between the political parties who oppose him to get an effective opposition to him. We can only hope the worst doesn't happen.
Why did I bring this up? Because this socialist(almost communist) candidate bases his platform upon populism and could cause conflict between the US and Mexico.
Andres Manuel López Obrador is a threat to our nation and he will use this migrant situation to garner support from the poor "give me all for free" masses.

UN international law on asylum says the south and central americans should be claiming asylum os mexico.
Cuz the law states the first country you get to that can protect you from you asylum claim. If you are leaving a violent government, gangs and husband abuse. And you are walking through into mexico thats where you should be getting asylum from.

It's because Mexico is denying them Asylum as well. Most of these immigrants are from central and south America and would settle for Mexico but they have closed borders. Then they ship these central Americans and drop them off at the border and say see yah bitch good luck.
