Longstanding federal law says illegal immigration is illegal

>longstanding federal law says illegal immigration is illegal
>perpetrators are therefore placed in federal jail awaiting prosecution
>this naturally implies placing children in separate accommodations (since federal jail is no place for children)
>all Trump did was simply enforce these laws that existed since long before his presidency

Did I get this right?

Well did I?

Guess not.

Bumping this anyway. Having this thread is my dream, and I don't just quit on my dreams.

Yes

You sure? Because literally all media sure seem adamant on claiming otherwise.

claim what otherwise? That it didn't happen before Trump?

>That it didn't happen before Trump?
Among others.

They're also claiming Trump "flip-flopped", implying that family separation was somehow instated by him.

lulz OP is funny

Follow your dreams user.

same thing happened under obama, saw a thread on Jow Forums a few days ago talking about this. Some articles from 2014 too. Trump only signed an executive order to stop that.

Yep.

Also, OPs can't bump their own threads.

Oh well if the (((media))) says otherwise then you know what (((they're))) saying is true.

God it's so depressing.
Anything less than completely open borders is shot down as inhumane because muh children crying.

Children cry when they go to school ffs. They do it all the time.

The West is too fucking soft, apparently we need a bunch of savages fucking our shit up.

It's just open-borders lunatics (i.e. democrats) throwing anything they can at the wall, seeing if it sticks.
And Euro media are lapping it up, fucking disgusting.

Well it is starting to spread to the East more. Slavic nations are beginning to soften too...

We need to man up before it's too late. But it will be hard with all this propaganda our people consume from West.

i don't think so it's just that. Midterms are coming and the fuck trump strategy didn't really work, but this might.

You're right. And Trump recently issued an executive order against this law, meaning parents and children will now be detained together until their deportation hearing.

The genius of this is that shitlibs are now going to sue Trump for keeping parents and children together (in deportation). They never cared about "separating families". They were cynically exploiting the bad optics of separating children from parents in detention to push through their open borders agenda. Since Trump unexpectedly issued this executive order, they are no longer able to push the "separating families" sob stories. They're going to look like complete idiots and Trump gets to deport them all together without the million other steps in between. He really is a savant at political maneuvering.

Don't let the media gaslight you, none of us are falling for it and many normies are in disbelief seeing outlets exploit hysteria so shamelessly and cynically.

>Voters Blame Parents, Not Feds, For Border Children Crisis
>When families are arrested and separated after attempting to enter the United States illegally, 54% of Likely U.S. Voters say the parents are more to blame for breaking the law. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only 35% believe the federal government is more to blame for enforcing the law. Eleven percent (11%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
>Fifty-four percent (54%) agree with President Trump when he says, “The United States will not be a migrant camp. And it will not be a refugee-holding facility – it won’t be.” Thirty percent (30%) disagree, while 16% are undecided.
