True, but those are vetted, skilled migrants, so it could be worse. It's still a problem due to infrastructure not scaling, etc. but at least indians and asians work and don't cause trouble.

I'm actually a legal migrant myself (pure white european though) and the immigration process is quite thorough. You need to go through medicals (from approved aussie doctors, not your village's toothsayer), they check all your degrees (you need to provide translations, against by approved translators), criminal records in all the countries you lived in, translated letters from all your previous employers, etc. It took 18 months for me to get an immigration visa.
The main issue with too many skilled migrants is that you lose the feeling of belonging to a country. Most migrants I know love the lifestyle, but would they fight to defend Australia if someone was invading us? Most likely not.

For one thing, you're an island/continent unto yourself. You have no actual shared border. All you need is a halfway-decent navy to intercept questionable ships.

We, otoh, have a massive southern border with a cartel-controlled country on the other side that actively aids illegal immigrants to cross their country and sneak into ours.

Just as importantly though, it doesn't matter what we call them. The left will always attack the current terminology. It used to be illegal alien but they cried that "alien" was dehumanizing. So it became illegal immigrant. Now they cry that "illegal" is dehumanizing. We're already seeing a big push that the very concept of borders is dehumanizing and that "free movement" between countries is a fundamental human right.

There's no appeasing these people with language. Their end goal is to utterly destroy the idea of the nation state. Giving in to them on language isn't going to stop that or delay it.

I'm an engineering manager. Aussies don't study engineering anymore, they all want to be lawyers or bankers. In a typical office you'll find mostly European management and Asian/Chinese rank and file engineers.
You could easily train smart Aussies to do that since they're of European stock and have the same IQ. They just don't want to, because apparently it's not prestigious enough to work in engineering.

2. theres been huge amounts of neglect in regards to dealing with asylum seekers, often times those seeking asylum are forced to wait in the middle of the desert for a week+
3. if not the previous, theyre sent in huge circles looking for one personnel to get the process started

because of these three points, its common to just come into the US and state you're an asylum seeker whenever you're picked up as its just flat out safer if you're actually seeking safety from something to get across the border

the second you show to the state you're a legitimate asylum seeker, you're no longer an illegal alien
