Forgot to mention that it's not an easy task to distribute the oil in Russia all across the country, and ofcourse communism ruined 80 years of time for Russia to fully develop, the Russian Empire was literally the fastest industrializing country before the October Revolution.

So basically if the if the reds lost the russian civil war russia would have a MUCH larger economy than Texas.

Texas exports as much or more than Russia though. Producing oil won't make money if no one is buying.

Texas is also land of cotton, beef, and pecans. Often as a top producer above the other states, and these are things that pretty much every American uses.

Gdp is a meme. Look at the housing market to judge the real economy, and California housing market sucks.

We're talking civil engineering here. The states may contribute to the military tech of the whole, but the states do not have their own. One of first major changes made to the country's federate vs confederate system early on.

Makes sense, and like i said before, if your country/state has alot of resources like oil, the smaller it is the easier it is to develop all parts of your country/state, resulting in a higher GDP.

When you look at the GDP of russia you are also including the frozen wastelands of siberia, which act as minus points towards your overall GDP.

You are comparing GDP in traded currencies. With the demande for the USD all the states appear to be hign in the standing. Texas is somewhere similar to Estonia if you discount the curremcy equivalence and salary and only count quantity production of equivalent products.
