First season was funny, actually made me laugh out loud. The show is a classic example of how fandoms can dwindle its quality. Case in point: Paul Thomas Anderson films, small following but high in quality. I would venture to say they have a conservative element in them.

I haven't watched TV in ten years or so, I'll occasionally download something on a recommendation and usually ditch the first episode halfway because it's the same old gay shit, and I quite liked some of them. The one with the nigger getting cucked by ants was pretty fucking funny.
On the other hand it and its fanbase are clearly about to disappear up their own arses, as prophesied by the whole pickle Rick thing.

Anyone else confused as to why people like such a depressing and nihilistic show? I gave it a chance and watched the first two seasons, how can someone enjoy this? It's really fucking sad.

First season I felt Rick was more of a satire. Season 2 and 3 they made him the only sane man of the show who's supposed to be taken at face value. I can only guess it's a defense mechanism to laugh at while society crumbles. Compare film and tv from the 1980s to now, there's a pretty stark differences, and I'm not just talking about aesthetics and synth music.

The only show I watch anymore is wrestling because it's a family tradition, and it's the only show on television that doesn't push some political agenda.
