You earn profit for renting out money just as you earn profit for renting out a home, tools or a workspace. Interest is the price of money, and people earn it for temporarily forgoing that money which could have gone on other enterprises. Lending money is no different than using it for your own goals that would generate profit. The problem is that money is created ad infinitum by central banks which devalues purchasing power

The only monetary manipulation there is is that of government protecting the existence of a central bank and its forceful abolition of any finite currency. If you think you should lend out money to help someone and not expect any compensation in return (when there is the risk they do not repay, and the fact that money could have been used on more productive means) on top of your principle sum then you might actually be retarded- try it yourself
