Depending on how things go I can certainly imagine communism or at least a pseudocommuninist system being commonplace and functional. A lot depends on technology and population control though.
The conditions to implement it are simply not present right now, and are a long, long way off. The people who talk about revolution and how we should all swap to communism right now are out right insane.

How is a rubber stamp for Trump’s agenda a bad thing? That’s what we want. We want 100% yes men. When you get competing agendas, you end up with John McCain or “Muh principled conservatism” tanking votes on the Senate floor. Trump’s agenda is popular. It’s why he won. We don’t need people from his own party to “stand up to Trump”, that’s what the Democratic Party is for.
