A friend gifted me a copy on steam. I tried to get into it, but its just fucking boring and when its not the heavy handed SOCIAL COMMENTARY it flaunts pulls me further away from it. Best thing it offered was I could flail around melee weapons in vehicles and throw unlimited cans and rocks at all times.
I honestly have more fun these days replaying CoD-1/UO or Duke3D on the hardest difficulty if I want to play a shooter.

Anyways in the game you play as a militarized police officer, joining local militia to fight the cult. The local militias are the only people around because the government is more busy with the impending world war 3 that the game subtlety hints about up until the end.
In True Far Cry fashion the cult is not necessarily bad because it's made by preppers to keep the dumb sheep safe when the nukes fall form the impending WW3, and it turns out they are right.
