Throw whatever argument you want at me, but people should not have to live in fear of being shot just because the NRA and gun owners are hiding behind some outdated document and enabling these mass shootings to happen. Children shouldn't have to go to school and be afraid of getting shot. It's time this nation realizes that gun owners are a detriment to a civilized society.
I don't know what the answer is and I don't really care but something needs to be done. Whether it is confiscation, registration, or just bans. Something needs to be done. This has gone on long enough.

The manufacture and sale of automatics to private citizens is absolutely illegal. However there are some weapons that were grandfathered in and are thus exempt. However you still need a permit for them...and enough spare cash burning a hole in your pocket to purchase them.

I allways go back and forth on this issue because I wish mass shootings didn't happen. However, consider that despite the fact that there are millions of guns out there, the number of mass shootings is actually low. A mass shooting I believe is also over 1. Most of the time it turns out there were signs that were ignored, parents were irresponsible with their firearms, and that the guns themselves were not the problem in the first place. If we took all guns away now, we'd have mass stabbings, mass bombings, mass drive downs. The weapon would change but the result would not.
