/SVG/ - Super Vehicles General

Come take shelter and post some of your favourite extremely large or interesting vehicles. (Both from history/fiction)

Other Anons discuss the geopolitics of the deployment of such terrors.

Earth looks like it was chopped to pieces by machines like that, but much bigger.

Russia’s entire fleet is in the med. USA carriers and supporting fleet are in the med. France, uk, Italy all have ships in the med, most likely Denmark as well. Geopolitics couldn’t be more strained in the med at this point at any given second this shit will pop off; and you will have all your space saucers going nuts.

anyone who thinks that super tanks would be a waste of materials needs to consider they use similar materials to a destroyer / light cruiser.

slow moving or not any naval power would take the opportunity to bring battleships onto land

US and russia won't fight just yet. The current international relations between the two is a facade. Instead they're likely between neutral and positive relations.

Pretty neat thread OP

Any photos of some good air based shit? Trb etc?

>sturmovik
they can try with a 1100lb bomb load they're not necessarily going to do all that much, and it's been designed with 4-12 AA guns in different variants.

>train
their time to shine was 1800s - 1920s, they got into all sorts of trouble in the russian civil war too

design from ww1

Attached: flyingcarrier1.jpg (1012x426, 317K)

ratte would be too slow and would sink into land from it's weight, I have no idea how would it even try to cross rivers. I doubt it's AA guns would save it from hundreds of Sturmoviks

Attached: tumblr_inline_osy0vjo0WQ1qg87vu_500.png (500x620, 662K)

is that real?

the different colours are caused by different sediment compositions, the different compositions have varying hardness/tendency to erode so fast flowing water/sand/wind can flake off the softer ones more quickly.

soviet project to make an aircraft carrier from a Ground Effect Vehicle.

Essentially it rides on the cushion of air produced by a fast moving object near another object (like the ground or water) causing pressure increase and extra lift.

Best anime never created.

the weight to surface area of tracks is lower than that of the tiger

it's designed to wade through rivers, the maus had the same intention (pic related)

I know what an ekrnoplan is bro, just wondering if tht pic is real or an artists impression or something

I RPG'd one of the treads now what

hard to say, the picture is a russian CGI however they claim they've been building it if it's finished or not I don't know.

>right now
First thing I do when I open the board is skim through the catalog hiding all the bait

Redpill me on nanomedicine

They would have to disclose their antigravity black projects first.

presumably the vehicle keeps on moving and the engineers begin repairs while the gun crews kill you

nuclear fission has the thrust to weight ratio needed to lift these guys

if we're talking about modern tech that's a different story considering active defenses

Because you are afraid of what people think of the US?
Or you just don't want to hear and see the rapid death of US culture.
Better go shitpost here then change anything.

Way to go paul!

I meant the dozen BMWF / literally who Twitter screenshot / "Powerful" low effort botspam. If the United States has a "culture" it exists in opposite proportion to the brain-melting consumerist sludge that spews forth from Hollywood, I'd be first in line to volunteer for Strache's foreign legion

A 1000 ton tank would be much smaller than depicted there, unless it was given Destroyer-level armor plating.

A Maus weighs three times as much as a Tiger, but it's not 3x as long, 3x as wide and 3x as tall.
Whoever artist made these has his proportions all messed up.

Drone swarms could also keep enemy combatants at a distance. In fact that could be a practical application of such a huge vehicle, acting as a land-based drone carrier.

>sturmovik target practice
>he actually takes pilot kill claims at face value

maus has a high armor-guts ratio, the ratte would only need a small amount more armor than the maus to be impenetrable but would still have the large open spaces inside

1 maus tank could probably plate the entire top side of that P.1000 ratte in the picture, throw in a few U-boat engines

I imagine the opposite is a house surrounded by nature.
I'm signing in for that type of culture! There's a lot of land in the US.

Strache looks weak af right now...
- Raising the maximum work hours to 12 hours per day.
- Buying horses for inner-city police (first time ever).
- Signing CETA and generally rich-friendly
- Crushes under cigarette lobbyist, because he smokes.
- Looks like he has no clue what he is doing

He has a LOT of legions.
Pegida, Nazis, German-Austro Fraternities (there are a lot).
But people change the moment they get into power. I don't believe he thinks a moment about the people who voted for him.

it has been explored

not sure about super vehicle, but I know for sure how a super weapon looks like (pic related)

The Bio Weapon in the picture is self replicant, and sentient it has the capacity to infiltrate and destroy from the inside out any civilization that allowed them to stay or that commit the crime of having compassion and allowing them in.

Let's think in other terms:
How much damage can a bomb make? For every ton of bomb dropped in Europe during ww2 you had exactly 1 person killed, a relative small ammount of damage if compared to nogs. How many lives does a ton of niggers ruin? Each of them cost to the American tax payers hundred of thousands, if not millions, of dollars.

I am not joking when I tell you that these people are a weapon...in fact Gheddafi, and Erdogan openly use them as a threat for us in Europe (either you give us money or we send them a shipment of tyrones)

This is what you should scared about, not fancy vehicles.

Japanese Submersible Aircraft Carrier from ww2

the plan was to surface near important US cities, torpedo desirable water targets, shell the coastlines and launch strike fighters.

A grey goo scenario cant happen. Nano machines would get clobbered by bacteria and fungi and everything else. Anywhere a nano machine was sent it would be met with a more specialized biological nano machine already waiting for it.

grey goo doesn't necessarily have to be a nano machine.

Unironically this.

metals like platinum sterilize bacteria on contact, it's not always the fighting spirit of the organism that makes it survive, science is cruel like that.

here's the widest plane.

I like this

Where are you getting all this platinum from?

That is one the dumbest ideas in history.

>blocks your path

Attached: 1280px-Richmond_Bridge_Panorama.jpg (1280x414, 198K)

Excellent, I've been waiting for one of these to be built. The average person doesn't realize how much energy got wasted just getting the rocket up to speed and above most of the atmosphere.

platinum group metals do it, like silver and such. That's not my point bacteria can't specialize to fight alcohol or fire. They have biological limits.

I love the fact that we live in a time of drone warfare. Any competent person can make their own drone to kill.

bassed on
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lun-class_ekranoplan
but too expansive

Attached: .jpg (728x416, 68K)

For a nano machine to be capable of self assembly and spreading though most environments it needs to be made out of abundant and reactive materials. Basically the exact same materials as biological life. A nano machine will also be vulnerable to fire, alcohol and platinum group metals.
Or is the nano machine magic?

That is one of the stupidest carrier designs I've seen.

yo dawg, I heard you liked airplanes....

so why haven't the bacteria colonized the earth's crust feeding from the reactive elements for an energy gradient?

That is the single plane version they were used for scouting and one time bombed Oregon near Tillamook. There was a plan for the I-600 a 3 plane version and they wanted to send 6 of the subs to the Panama Canal to launch 18 planes and bomb the canal. Only three were started, two were scuddled at the end of the war and the last was made sea worthy and and sailed to America with the hanger loaded with captured Japanese junk and stopped at many American island bases on the way and is described as a floating flee market

Obviously because its impossible which means its impossible for a nano machine. Its not like bacteria etc havnt been trying everything for billions of years.

Well that would be incredibly easy to shoot out of the sky

Attached: 1464174754696.webm (426x426, 1.22M)

just like aircraft carriers are easy targets in the water?

we've called a lot of things impossible before

Yeah I thought the picture looked truncated, however the cross section really gives you a feel for the design.

Attached: lockheednasatransporterjpeg.jpg (750x383, 47K)

>I RPG'd one of the treads now what
Now there is a little hole in the tread

Aircraft carriers are easy targets in the water...are you retarded?

Part of the dink dong's strategy for the south china sea is to over come the Aegis systems ability to target and destroy 240 objects to defend a carrier group. So they will launch bombers, fighters, missiles, send out torpedo and rocket boats and drones to the number of 300 +

would collapse under its own weight

>Nano machines would get clobbered by bacteria and fungi and everything else.
So put some copper in them.
Nano 1
Bacteria and Fungi 0
