They've painted themselves into a corner with all the lies, intimidation, and violence they've committed, and they do not want to answer for any of it, as that would mean the death penalty or life in Gitmo for many of them. All-out war has nearly become their only option left to avoid retribution for what they've done. Little do they understand that war will bring the very retribution they're trying to escape.
These people know what they've said and done to us over the last decade or so. They know that we know. They just showed their hand early in 2016 because they never thought they would lose power again. That's why they've been in full-on, by any means necessary panic mode since November 8 2016.

Also worth keeping in mind there were worse riots and worse political violence in the US in the past in comparison with today. Communism is always dangerous. When they rise to power, when they are in power and when they are losing power. When communism is rising to power, it's dangerous to non-commies. When they are in power, it is dangerous to commies themselves (who is more communist, who are ideologically "un-pure" and so on. However, what the premise means is that when an ideology, what ever ideology and not just communist, is starting to collapse, it needs an external enemy more than ever to beat the believers back in line.
US socialists have had good times, because they have been able to suck the milk from the government tit so long, without being challenged. They went over board in wanting all the power and turn the US fundamentally on it's core. They failed, now they are failing on all fronts. They don't have an ideological basis anymore and it all crumbles.
