Jow Forums seems to think you have to agree with everything a person says to learn anything useful from them at all. Absorbing JPs work has made me a more effective individual and given me perspective on the power (danger) of identity politics.

However, I didn't go down the path of radical individualism that he proselytizes. Now not only am I aware of my team, but I work to improve myself to improve the optics of my team.

I just saw him speak yesterday. I don't fking care about the shill side of Jow Forums's opinion of him, he's amazing.

He talked about Egyptian mythology, explained some christian metaphors that derived from Egyptian myths, how important tradition is, the roles of democrats and republicans in society, how they need eachother, how the market opened for intellectual speakers, what it means, how Joe Rogan is the most powerful interviewer that's ever existed, reaching millions with his podcast and youtube, what it means revolutionarily for the spread of information. How Republicans are needed to run things efficiently, in detail, Democrats are needed to make sure there's innovation and change so that a tyrannical system doesn't "efficiently" destroy society. If liberals actually listened to him, and weren't always "What is he even saying XD XD I can't even read this." like it makes him the moron, maybe they'd learn something.

Agreed, and I think beyond all else he's telling young men to adopt responsibility for themselves and grow the hell up in a way that actually makes sense for a lot if people. If you watch him on the munk debate he was on you can see how well he's able to articulate and present ideas clearly, it's no small wonder how many people love him when he has so much natural charisma.

Peterson's problem is that he projects his personal values as a universal whole, and stem from his ideal that Individualism is ultimately about man's pursuit of Truth. In reality, for most men, Individualism is about the pursuit of pleasure, as ultimately embodied by the bugman that he so intensely despises.

However he is correct that dysfunctional individuals, left unaddressed, will merely be dysfunctional collectivists. A band of pathetic NEETsocs, or debating them, aren't going to smash the academic ideological establishment, which is Peterson's actual goal.

Peterson is valuable because he coaxes people out of their bugman state, where they have the potential to grown into actual people.
