It's federal primaries in my state today, and I'm not sure who to vote for. Our incumbent is very middle of the road, "moderate", and excellent politician, and up for a major Congressional leadership position after the election. But he's also out of touch, barely steps foot in the district, and runs the local party machine like his personal fiefdom, and is astoundingly corrupt.
This year he has a primary opponent for the first time since he was appointed to his office. Thanks to the current wave of Democratic Berniecrat resentment to establishment neo-libs, and media exposés on his corruption, there's some real momentum against him too. His opponent is young, sharp, hard working, and by all accounts honest and proper. But she's also a radical SJW, and has all sorts of far out positions I don't support and don't want to see become the Democratic mainstream.
A lot of my politically active establishment friends think it would be ridiculous for us to dump the incumbent right when he's about to achieve real power, and replace him with someone that would have to spend a few decades clawing herself up to a similar status - if the machine even lets her get anywhere, since they don't take kindly to people who throw monkeywrenches in the gears. But it's hard for me to support someone who's so cynical and corrupt, who's the swamp personified.
So tell me, Jow Forums, who should I vote for? Should I pull the lever for the competent but corrupt incumbent, or should I choose the honest but insane opponent?
Also, general New York State primaries thread. Does your distract have elections today? Who you voting for?
No primaries in my district, my Congresswoman gets automatic reelection every time.
Logan James
Political corruption has always existed, but radical SJWism will completely annihilate a civilization
Aaron Davis
But she'll be much easier to vote out next election, doubly so if she starts pushing serious SJW stuff that'll piss off socially conservative immigrants.
Anthony Robinson
Anything that normalizes SJWism should be punishable by death, she may be voted out, but then they realize they can win elections, then you're fucked
Isaiah Rivera
The fire rises brother Ride the tiger
Easton Smith
That's a good point, but the alternative is this guy picking our pocket for the next 2-3 decades until he leaves office feet first.
Robert Powell
The SJW will create sanctuary cities and pick your pocket even faster while increasing crime
Jackson Morales
Too late, we're already a sanctuary city and our pockets are being picked every day by our fauxgressive mayor while crime increases.
State primaries are September 13th. I haven't decided if I want to vote Coumo or Nixon, who's borderline SJW and a fucking rich actress. But I'm glad she's out there giving Coumo a well deserved headache. I don't know if anyone's running against Molinaro for the Republican nomination.
General elections are November 6th.
Benjamin Moore
chele for senate
Carson Adams
staten island ready to redeem this otherwise shitty city once again.
Henry Young
Met her the other day. Hope she wins. Gillibrand freaking creeps me out
Dylan Ortiz
Quads confirm. I can't stand Gillibrand, like my Congressman she was appointed to her seat and hasn't face any real opposition since.
Angel Lewis
Fuck Gillibrand and fuck Coumo for appointing her. She's the most SJW person in Senate, and she would have never won an open election for an open seat.
William Rodriguez
Oh fugg I forgot. Either way the Republican running for Senate is a cuck, 100% for Israel and not a single dog whistle to appease racists like me. Everybody else dropped out.
Upstate new York just need to leave down state no real change will happen for anybody until this happens the republicans blew their chance by voting down the CC for New York state because " liberals might make free college for everyone" they have already have it
Robert Cook
As a City boy I agree, upstate takes all our tax dollars and downstate passes laws that totally don't work for upstate.
Robert Carter
i see we all agree here how can we make it happen
Alexander Sanchez
District 27 was supposed to have a challenger to Chris Collins, but I guess he didn't register in time/properly. I was disappointed, because the two times I've e-mailed Chris Collins I've gotten cuckservative form responses >e-mail >what did you expect Non-cuckservative form responses. Either way, congratulations Collins. I don't know if you pulled some shenannigans to stop the other guy or if he was just bad, but I guess you'll get my vote in November.
Jason Cox
The constitutional convention vote was so stacked it was stupid. You had Cuomo saying he "wanted" the convention to get contrary people to vote against it. Meanwhile the (((media))) told the right it would mean the left would come for your guns and it told the left it would mean the right would come for gay marriage. The end result was everyone voted against it and all the politicians in Albany got to breathe a sigh that the gravy train wasn't going to run out.
Cameron Flores
ny14 is about to send a latina socialist to congress
Xavier Sullivan
Really? Crowley will be voted out? He's the most corrupt man in NYC, and that's saying something.
Cameron Gray
HOLY SHIT HE LOST You guys convince me to vote for him, and he lost. I hope he lost because he's corrupt as fuck, and not because racist immigrants won't vote for a white guy.
Hunter Evans
>upstate takes all our tax dollars
Neck yourself. Really.
Joseph Nelson
If we neck ourselves, you won't have any tax revenue to steal.
Jack Morris
It’s true though. Upstate economy revolves around imprisoning people from downstate and apple orchards or something.
Elijah Peterson
>I hope he lost because he's corrupt as fuck, and not because racist immigrants won't vote for a white guy Got some bad news for you friend...
Sometimes it's better to stick with the devil you know
>being so brainwashed by kikery that you believe self-sufficient farming communities are a bigger economic drain than a city ran by literal swine and filled with 10 million niggers
Pray tell, what is all this money sent upstate going towards?
Julian Nelson
585 reporting, The death of Slaughter has left a vacancy for the first time in Rochester since the 80's. Joe Morrelle is the a current state representative who is probably going to end up winning. I have seen lots of his signs around where I live.
Jonathan Garcia
We have no fucking idea but we want it back. We send in way more tax money to Albany then we ever see in return, while upstate gets loads more money then they ever send to Albany.
Jackson Johnson
Kek where's your evidence for that? Your money is going to Jesus, your dominican neighbor not me
