It's not about what club to join.

There's an easy way to check. If you can confess out loud that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead, you're saved.

You cannot do that, and believe that, without being saved, because if you did that just once, you're sealed with the Holy Spirit as a downpayment on your eternal transformation.

Now that we know that hell if finite, and the the wages of sin is death (the fires of hell kill those who are subjected to it), what about all those verses that speak about eternal punishment?

Well simply put those verses are mistranslation of the greek word aion, aionios.
The word that they translate forever from actually means a unknown period of time.

It is not, the reward for believing in Jesus is a earlier resurrection and to rule and reign with Christ.
