NYC is in fact even more diverse then the rest of the country, and yet it has extremely low crime that has been doping steadily since the 90's
They also have general democratic and liberal policies, High taxes and strict gun laws, open carry is not a thing in New York
In 2017 there were only 290 homicides, the lowest number since 1940; keep in mind this is for a city with 8.6 million people
NYC is also extremely wealthy, it is the financial capitol of the world, home to many of the tallest buildings in the US with many more being planed and built, home to some of the best public transport in the world
does this mean that diversity can work? What is the special sauce that makes it work specifically in NYC? Can their success be replicated elsewhere?

A large part of the low crime is due to a zero tolerance policy regarding crime including minor shit like loitering. You know, the type of shit BLM loses their minds over, funny how that works.

a long time ago I got hired on with a security firm to help clean up a private section 8 apartment complex.
The place was a real shithole. There were burned out cars in the lot, garbage everywhere, daylight drug sales out in the open, shootings, etc.
We didnt have a lot of actual authority, but being a private firm on private property meant we could also do a lot of things the police couldnt, like enforcing the property rules and leases.
We started off by doing basic things that improved the overall codition of the property, beginning in the springtime, with having derelict cars towed, having maintenence remove trash and fix the exterior, and securing the doorways that led into the buildings.
Then we moved up to towing cars with no parking permits, enforcing property curfews, enforcing the defiant trespass list, and finally evicting shitheads.
