Well from my perspective it was just a temporary gambit to throw things to Hillary from the get-go (and possibly a plan B if for some reason Hillary had a seizure on stage or something). But it definitely energized a lot of people and resulted in substantial dissillusionment.

There's literally no reason to be a Democrat if you're white. It used to be a pro-working class party with a focus on unions and some scant social welfare programs to give people the bare minimum who were down on her luck. You'd think people who call themselves progressives would focus more on scientific advancement. I mean it isn't hard to figure out, the only reason we still aren't living in caves and spending all day every day foraging for food just to survive is because of technology. Yet none of them are willing to put technological progress and education as a centerpiece of the ideology.

They act like they like science. Here's a bit of a redpill for you if you've never worked in academia or around scientists: science is a giant fucking racket. It's a bunch of legitimately smart (& probably autistic) guys with fancy degrees who fudge numbers and misrepresent statistics and self-fellate over the conclusions of their paper so that they can secure funding to keep their jobs. Our current model of having most of our research go on in research universities is wildly inefficient. You NEED strict oversight by government or corporation to get real and practical results. The current model incentivizes framing the statistics in ways that make a study's results look more important than they really are. The government shouldn't be funding science, they should be conducting science using a quasi-military model or they should just let corporations do it.
