I spent most of this past month in Osaka and Tokyo and coming back to America makes me realize how much where I live sucks. Granted, I live in Los Angeles, but still. America's large cities are fucking shit holes and I'm jealous of how clean and safe Japan is.

It's funny, I agree with this 100% and this sounds completely true based on my experiences. But if I said this to a coworker (minus the outing myself with the race realism) I'd get an HR report or just fired.
Gotta be careful what you say nowadays, even speaking common sense truths can get you in trouble. A couple of years ago I thought everywhere in America loved our country, respected our Flag and our Nation, and understood that we were the best of the best. After travelling and seeing outside of the SE, makes me think it'd be hard to live anywhere with so much self-hatred for their own country.

Yeah. It's pretty great here. Lot of open space, even in the supposedlu "urban" states. I'm from NJ which has the highest population density and I would say about 1/2 of the state is more or less woods/farmland

And not all the cities are bad either. Even Philly which is pretty shotty has a decent amount of nice areas
