If, as in another tweet above, a manager asked a customer to remove a Nazi hat, the manager would still be fired. The customer service industry is not about playing favorites, it is about serving customers regardless of their political, social, or other affiliations. It is out of line to refuse a paying customer in a restaurant over something as trivial as a hat.
Note that this is what the left wants - the right to discriminate based on their criteria.
