It isn't obvious how many people can read, but lots of people can listen

Reading is a very focused activity OP. It requires your full attention to sit down and your hands to turn the page or hold the object you're reading.
While listening is a much more passive endeavor, you can have your headphones in and workout at the gym or have it passively playing in the background while folding clothes or doing chores.
Furthermore, human beings evolved to listen way before we learned to read.
This is just a troll but it baited me pretty hard lol

Oh look, a memeflag faggot took part of sentence out of three hour interview.

It's also how this commie twat justifies his magic ideology. Tell me again how all of the people who use capitalism to exploit the workers will disappear now and forever once all of the wealth and resources become centralized.

So they are asking for it?

muh dick whitey

He's right. A lot of millennials cant even read. Im talking about white people too.

I'm not sure what Jorden is on about here, but I wish he'd focus on what he does best. Just stick to rug design and marketing.

>Canadian scarecrow uses psychology, history, myth and televangelism to make dosh.
All this and Red Green on 'Good Evening Saskatoon'.

I know people with college degrees who can't read. Give them Plato and they can't even get through two pages. They don't have the attention span; especially for anything difficult.

What's the last thing you read, you fuck?

Know how often the average person sits down and actually reads a physical book? THEY DON'T.

And people thought a tyrannically government would burn the books. You don't have to burn shit when the population is so stupid they don't read.

This is the bravest of new worlds, I swear to god. When things start going downhill, it's going start getting so bad, SO QUICK there won't be much to do other than scramble for our own survival. Hell on earth within our lifetime imo

PETERSON: Well, see that's what I've been thinking about, and you know I just don't know how many people actually can read. It's complicated, man. The visuo-perception complex in your mind is like, mind-blowing. For instance, the eye is round. And so you might ask, "what else is round?". And you might say, "the earth is round", and that's TRUE. The earth is round. But so is the SUN. The sun, mythologically speaking has two functions. OK, so what are theyt? It SHINES and it MOVES. And you might say well yeah that's obvious, but it's like, NO. It's NOT obvious. It's just not bloody obvious. And because of the sun, we can see. And because the source of our seeing is round, our spacetime is curved, it may make sense that what perceives is also round. And see we have a round sun, round planet, curved spacetime, and we get a round eye.

ROGAN: Dude, you are blowing mt mind

PETERSON: But there's more, there's more. Because we're not talking about one eye. We're talking about TWO. And think about it, if you have one, and you axiomatically delineate out a functional reasonable system from the logos of mathematical thinking, our reason, then you can take one and one, and what do you get?

ROGAN: hmmm...

PETERSON: Two!

ROGAN: Oh I see.

PETERSON: Right! So we have two eyes, two globes, male and female, order and chaos, and together, ,they give people the ability to see, and read.

ROGAN: But don't we have two ears as well?

PETERSON: Well that's what the post-modernists would have you believe. But it isn't obvious how many ears we have.

I can't go on. This is what it sounds like to me.

Engineers for instance can't understand any literature that isn't coelho or harry potter, so they tend to look down on philosophy. That's why you'll see 99% of engineers falling for neocon and lolbertarian streams of thought, or they'll adopt mainstream liberal position in some cases.

I still read a lot. My on-call transportation job allows me to read between two and five hours a week easy.

I'm pretty sure reading words will be a thing of the past within our lifetimes but I'm going to consciously stay well-read so that everything all of my thoughts and opinions don't get oversimplified like everything else.

nigger I have an engineering degree and fucking read crime and punishment and a fucking 1k page book about mao's bullshit

You unironically might be stupid.

Based

What's your reading list like?
