Go on LinkedIn and get 1000 random connections with strangers to look better. Lie on your resume because you're against 200 candidates so HR has no time to check. Compliment the managers. Always bring food to work each week so co workers see a reason to keep you around. Dress well so you look more professional than you are.

A lot of it is because people have had it drilled into their heads they need to go to college even though the majority of those degrees will leave you in a huge amount of debt and the jobs can already be filled by pajeets across the pond for a quarter of the price. Not to mention our job market is completely saturated with those kind of degrees. Meanwhile trade jobs are hurting worse than ever and those people are making close to 6 figures a year sometimes. With usually no debt.

Note that your boss cares more about how productive you look than how productive you are. Pace yourself to keep your energy going.
