We've funneled millions of dollars into Maduro's political opponents on the left and right, but we didn't support a coup plot because we thought it would fail. For the initial invasion you are possibly correct. If the Venezuelans properly utilize anti-armor and air defense they could make it a real fight, but they likely wouldn't. We would probably need more because a rule of thumb for counterinsurgency is 1 fighter for 20 people.
